Hi all,

New member here - long time lurker. Finally decided to tile the garage, and have a 1st draft. Any input is appreciated, ie too busy, looks weird etc. You won't hurt my feelings. Also wondering if there's a big difference between Racedeck and GarageTrac to justify the cost difference. Light duty garage, with 3 vehicles and an HD among other light equipment. I'm staying off the back about 3' for toolboxes, workbenches etc. and about 1 1/2' on the left for a pump and other stuff, so I will have edging all around. The area to the right is a walkway from the small door to the interior door. Makes more sense if you actually could see the garage.

I like it. I don't think it will be too busy. It's unique and not quite like other layouts that you typically see.

Once on the floor, it will look good.
Don't forget to apply a sealer under the tiles to protect the floor from spills, melting snow, etc.. and please post the final product so we can all see the design in action.

It may be too busy but I wanted something different that will fill up the big garage. I'm sure I'll play with it some more before pulling the trigger. Anyone have an opinion on the GarageTrac tiles? They seem to be made by the same co. as Racedeck but are less expensive. I'm only doing this once so I want it too last. Thanks for all your input.

Way too busy. Less is more when it comes to these floors.

I would tend to agree with this, but its your garage so whatever is comfortable for you, obviously. I'm sure you have looked through RaceDeck's gallery on their site a few times at this point haha, as we all have before pulling the trigger. I've now placed two orders with RaceDeck at this point and with whatever design you decide on it will be like Christmas when it arrives. And hey, the beauty of this floor is you can always change it up. Even re-arrange the tiles if you so chose.

After looking at it about 100 times, I have another less busy version. I can see this is going to be a long process. Once I decide on the pattern I have to choose between racedeck and GarageTrac.

Don't let me sway you either way. Both Garage Trac and Racedeck scratch the same and both will mash out and deform under a floor jack even though the Racedeck is a little beefier with it's understructure . Both failed me side by side, but still better than unpainted concrete.

Pretty cool. I just finished my 4 car garage but went with something more typical. I think it will look great once you out it down.
