If I choose the Free-Flow tile option, can I see the concrete floor under the tile? I like the idea of fluids, etc. draining through the tiles and then running out the door, however since I want to cover an ugly floor, will the Free Flow tiles show too much of the floor through the grids?

The answer is Yes and No. When your looking at the floor when you are in your garage you see the floor not the sub floor. Now if you stand directly over and look really closely with a bright light, you will be able to see the sub floor in within the small rib opening.
