Got my Racedeck shipment today. Delivery worked out perfect, as I normally work a 1/2 day on Fridays and driver called just after I got home from work.

My garage is a 2 car, but smaller than I wanted but all the new houses seem to have a "2 car garage" which is more like 2 smart car garage, just over 19' wide x just over 18' deep. My G8 gets the garage and my GMC Sierra gets the driveway. The truck is too big to fit in the garage, and only comes in for oil changes and detailing stuff. Even if both could fit, I probably wouldn't park both inside anyway, as I would need a much bigger space to allow for work space.

Anyway, a couple issues. Got shorted 2 red tiles. Not a huge deal, as the 2nd issue kept me from completing the install today. I thought I was going to just order 19' x 18' of tile and have more than enough clearance around the perimeter to not have to cut any tiles. Not so. The concrete around the perimeter of the garage is not very level and sort of rough. So, going to have to cut along 2 walls, and possibly the 3rd starting wall so it doesn't buckle the rough/unlevel concrete.

Got to trim the 2 walls worth of tiles. I will try and pull the whole grid of tiles over slightly to keep from having to cut the 3rd wall of tiles.

Got a 10 piece set of NewAge Pro cabinets from Costco coming. Going to take down the upper shelving I put up, and move 1 section of it over the garage track along 1 side of the garage door. Probably going to move the Rubbermaid track stuff along the side wall of the garage.

Want to paint the garage as well. The builder painted it, but used the same paint throughout the whole house.....and is pretty much **** flat paint. Shows every mark in the garage.

Anyway here are some pics:

Thanks. I am looking at a light grey. I saw this at Home Depot the other day so I picked up a sample in satin finish. Current paint is a flat matte color and show any mark and isn't scrubable at all.

Any opinions?

I ordered a Dust Buddie to attach to my angle grinder. Going to grind the rough concrete flat along the perimeter of the floor before I start cutting tiles to make sure I get them cut right. So I will pull up the one wall of tiles to do that wall. Should have done this before laying the tiles....

Also want to have an electrician come out and add more outlets. I want to get a 30 gal compressor, so I want to also get it on its own circuit.

Not much will happen for a few weeks now since I am leaving for the holidays.

Looks great! The satin finish is a good idea. It doesn't show marks as easily as matte and it can be scrubbed lightly.

It shows more drywall blemishes but I went with semi-gloss for some sheen and also easy to wipe down. I'd also suggest going to Sherwin Williams or Porter for some high quality paint. It really makes a difference on coverage and application. I like the gray colors as well. You can't go wrong with bright white too if you like it bright in there. Looking forward to the updates.

The only recommendation I would make is to avoid using Glidden paint. It just doesn't cover very well. You would be much better off spending a bit more on Valspar, Sherwin Williams or Behr.

Nice job! Make sure to post up some before pics. The paint choice seems great, i do love grey on the walls. Just make sure you have enough light in there to offset the colour. Seeing those pics makes me miss that colour combo.

Since you have black tiles around the perimeter have you thought about maybe painting that lower cement footer on your garage walls black. Would make the floor flow so nicely into the walls. I used that approach on my last two garages with black free flow tiles around the perimeter. Anyway just a suggestion.

Yeah, I just picked that color from the Glidden section. The sample they made was Behr. Sherwin Williams has pretty good sales, up to 40% off making their high end paints reasonable.

Still trying to figure out how to do the walls. That gray was just one I liked when looking at Home Depot.

Yeah, I saw how you did your cement around the base in black. I will probably end up doing that. Need to do some grinding first to obtain a flat and level surface along the perimeter.

Don't have any before pics because my garage has been cleaned out for about a month while I decided on which floor choice to go with. All my garage stuff has been in my unused dining room.

Finished the racedeck install just after the new year, but never took completed floor pics as just after I finished my cabinets arrived. I painted the wall the cabinets are going on, then started mounting them. I had to wait for an electrician to come and add a couple outlets, 1 on the cabinet wall, and 1 on the back wall, and also needed to move my garage door opener down.

Just need to finish leveling and securing the tall cabinets, and then install the butcher block top. Then paint the remaining walls.

I will post final pics in this thread and probably start a thread in the garage gallery. Anyway, here are a few pics. I got this set from Costco, and it has 1 more upper cabinet, but unfortunately the mounting wall was just too short to install all 4 upper cabinets and the 2 tall lockers. Going to put the other wall cabinet on the opposite wall by my hose reel for detailing stuff. The left over space to the left of the tall cabinets will most likely be used for a compressor, which I will have my electrician come back and add a separate circuit for.
