Back on June 6th 2011 my very first post on this forum was in regard to RaceDeck flooring for my newly built garage. That garage is long gone and I never did put the flooring in. I have a nicer house but a much smaller garage - 19'6" x 17'6". I have endlessly debated putting some type of tile down but could never make up my mind on color or style. My garage is heated and insulated but I always felt the cold coming through the floor in my shoes and wanted some isolation from directly touching the concrete. I had been in a few garages with the solid tile and did not really think I would be happy with them because my garage gets dirty and I don't want to sweep and mop every day. I finally saw a full garage with FreeFlow and thought that it would suit my purposes. Thanks to 993cabfan for letting me check out his garage and CJDave for his long pm's touting the tiles - RaceDeck might want to give him a commission. Also thanks to everyone who posts their pics and opinions to help others like myself and even Ryan for starting this Forum in the first place. I did not do some fancy pattern because as you can see my garage is pretty full so it would not be seen anyway. A show garage it is not! My garage gets used most days by myself or my 15 year old son. We work on dirt bikes, mountain bikes, some truck/car maintenance and miscellaneous other projects. Some woodworking and minor welding is done too. I just installed it yesterday so the garage is a bit messy as you can see, we piled up a lot of things on the benches and motorcycle lift, and I will be cleaning and organizing it today and tomorrow. I have tiles for the raised curb area in the back but not sure if it's worth the effort to put it under those heavy *** cabinets. The tiles were very easy to install and look great. I did the trimming by using a 60 tooth blade on my table saw. The floor is noticeably more comfortable to walk on and makes none of the slight noise that you get from the solid tiles. The only thing that I did not like much, were the edge pieces. They are kind of flimsy and don't line up as tight as I would like. I wonder if they could make a tile with an integrated edge piece. I went with yellow because it reminds me of the safety stripes on the floor at work. I should also give a shout out to Shauna at RaceDeck. Great pricing and I ordered on a Friday afternoon and had the tiles the following Tuesday. Four days from Utah to Detroit is unbelievably fast. I will update occasionally.

kngelv - Thank you for taking the time to post your experience and of course, choosing RaceDeck.... Your Floor Looks Great! In regards to the edging... We have several different options, I think you have our original standard 3"?) I am happy to send you the others at no charge to try out ( one is very beefy) ... just drop Shauna a note.

I reached out to Shauna. She wanted to talk to you for clarity on what edge pieces you are referring to.

I just wanted to do a quick update. Shauna at RaceDeck sent me some different edge pieces. They are a little deeper - 3” vs 1.75” - and much more rigid. I’m not sure why these are not showing on the RaceDeck site. I would advise getting these vs the smaller ones. I’m posting some pics of the differences. Thanks again to RaceDeck.

Looks nice! Like yourself, I noticed an immediate difference in the comfort on the floor. The slab Is still pretty cold (it’s in the Yoop) but it doesn’t **** the heat from your feet. The true test will be next February!
Although I’m not unhappy with the more narrow edge pieces, I’ll see how they both hold up and function over the next few months with foot traffic. I also agree that it would be nice to have additional detailed information on the transition pieces.

Shauna is a rock star. I worked with her as well. What a professional, CS oriented person to represent a company.
