Since I've been creeping on this site for about a year now getting ideas for my garage, I thought I would post the results to maybe help others looking to do the same. Thanks to everyone at Garage Journal who submits posts.

The previous owner of our house built large wooden shelves using about 1000 nails. I ripped out all the shelves and started repairing the walls.

The issue with the floor was it had stains everywhere. It also created dust and dirt like crazy. I was always sweeping it. I thought hard about Epoxy but simply didn't have the time necessary to do it right and wait days between dry times. I also didn't have anywhere to put my boat so I needed the job done fast. I decided on RaceDeck Freeflow.

Thanks to Jennifer and Jorgan at Racedeck for working with me to guarantee delivery on a certain day. They were great to work with. Designing the layout online was a breeze. I went with Alloy, Back, Graphite and Royal Blue Freeflow

I'm really happy with how it turned out. Installation was a breeze.

I haven't needed to sweep the floor in 3 weeks. Thanks Racedeck, I love the floor.

Looks really nice!!!!! When I finally get my basement finished I need to get working on getting the garage floor done. I am leaning toward RaceDeck flooring but haven't made the final decision yet.

Your garage looks great!!!
Do the free flow tiles reduce the concrete dust? Do you have a drain in your garage floor, or does the water just flow towards the garage doors then outside?

Cheers...

Looks awesome! I am considering a very similar design and using free flow.

Forget the fridge, what is that thing sitting on top of it??

Looks great... any reason why you went all free flow vs. using a combo of free flow and the regular diamond?

Hey Guys thanks for all the compliments. The more time I spend in the garage the more I like the new flooring.

Defender90 - The floor doesn't necessarily "reduce the dust" being created, you just don't see it anymore. Any dust or dirt simply stays below the tile surface keeping it looking clean. Big debris like grass stays on top which is easily swept up. To really clean the floor I just use a shop vac. I do not have a floor drain, the water drains out the garage doors. This weekend my friend spilled a cocktail on the new floor. We simply poured water from a bucket over the spill and it drained underneath the tiles out the garage door.

55CADILACKING, BUBBLES, SCLANCY, and BLOOMINGTON MIKE ... RELAX, the garage project is not finished. I took these pictures as soon as the floor went down. The HD Wall Mounted TV, Stainless Refrigerator, and Custom painted powder coated Wheel Chocks are in the works. I will post pictures when the garage is done.

MagicMarker - I was looking for a floor to hide the dirt. With Freeflow you don't see any fine dirt/dust. With Solid Diamond all the dirt sits on top requiring cleaning more often. I also like the way Freeflow looks different depending on the angle you are looking at it from.

Racedeck1 - Thank you for the tee shirt offer! That's great. I had some folks over this past weekend and they are already talking about getting some Racedeck in their garage to.

Do you have to lift the floor up once a year or so to clean the dirt out from underneath?

Hi
You have several options.. Depending on your concrete floor ( pitch, drain, etcc) you can simply wash through the floor and it will run out the door or to your drains, pressure washing is also great. You can also easily pop out a single tile or full section if you want to do a serious scrub down on your concrete.

see here for tile removal

Hi - Our modular flooring systems are full-suspension and channeled underneath. You can simply wash or pressure wash the FreeFlow and anything underneath will be washed away out the door or to your drains. I have not moved my FreeFlow garage floor in 3 + Years and we have tons of snow and road slop dragged in every day of winter

Once a year.

Here's the floor clean process, post winter. Our back lane access to the shop is not paved, and winters here see very cold temps, snow, salt and sand. This is about as bad is a floor could get after a cold winter. Pretty much a mop, squeegee, and wet/dry vac took care of things. I have a layer of EPDM under my floor, along with edging (sealed to EPDM) and a drain to prevent shop flooding after winter melt.

This process below is bit easier if you just wait in the spring for a dry floor..then sweep/vacuum. I still give the RD a wet mop after it is back in place. I think we're on year 3 now and no complaints.

The colored tiles are super handy for locating vehicles on the hoist.. all vehicles have different lift balance points..so I use the yellow tiles for reference when backing them in to lift.
