I have two quick questions in regards to using RaceDeck in my newly constructed garage. I have sent for samples and they are still to arrive. In the meantime:

1. The clickity-clak noise. I have heard some say it is just a too disconcerting unnatural weird noise when walking on it and I am wondering why there is any noise? If the material is sitting flat on the floor and there is no gap what would cause a noise? It's not rebounding off the concrete so what is the cause? Others have said to put tar paper or other thin material under the flooring but in my mind that would just impede drainage flow and/or soak in any runoff. What does RaceDeck recommend under the material?

2. Tiles pulling apart. More than one person has mentioned an issue with the tiles separating in an case of say a car making a sharp turn on top of the floor. Is this a possible occurance? If you pull a car in and make a sharp turn with the wheel can the tiles be pulled apart?

Jorgen- Some people have wanted to eliminate all sound from their floor, but it really is not an issue for 99.9% of our customers. Most all floors other than raw concrete have some sort of sound ( like wood floors in your house, et). The reason there is sound in a solid topped modular surface is becasue sound can not escape so it echoes, this is why open grid flooring has no sound at all. We have two solutions that we recommend - the 1st is to use thin landscape felt under the floor just where you walk into your home our bench area - the second is to use our ShockTower inserts from our sports flooring, see http://www.snapsports.com/comsurfaceIn.html , though this is much more costly.

Jorgen - this really not an issue at all if the floor is properly installed. I have a Dodge Mega Cab 4x4 with 35" snow tires that I turn in the garage to fit with no issue. Now if you aggressively accelerate out of the garage you may have an issue or if your front wheels are fully turned while on the floor and the rear wheels are outside and you accelerate hard as you enter the garage, you may 'push' the floor. We are happy to work with you to ensure a proper installation.
