Some rambling here for you. Sorry...
I tore up the carpet from one room inside the house. Carpet is nasty stuff!
My initial intent was to lay down an epoxy finish in place of the old carpet. I already bought the epoxy and all of the gear to get it done before even removing the carpet. However, when I tore up the tack strips, bits of concrete came with it - all around the perimeter of the room. I then started to realize natural imperfections in the concrete, along with cracks, etc... All of the aforementioned details pose a problem for epoxy, unless measures are first taken to repair the floor. I returned all of the gear for the epoxy job - I abandoned the idea...
I began researching other options. The next thing that came to mind was a vinyl floor. Installing a subfloor is of paramount importance with an imperfect foundation though. Some people even choose to install a subfloor, regardless of the condition of their base layer. I don't want to bother with all that.
I then found out about Swiss Trax and next RaceDeck here on garagejournal.com. My plan is to install RaceDeck inside the house in this one room! It will be "my room." I've ultimately decided to do this.
To the point: I am curious if anyone here on garagejournal has installed RaceDeck inside the house. If it weren't for garagejournal, I'd have no idea about RaceDeck. I'm aware that the content on this website is mostly garage based, but I'd like some more inspiration for my prospective project.
Let me know if you get a chance. Thanks guys.
