Does the 1.5 inch edging at garage door opening go up to the door seal or under? If it stops short of it I'll need to trim an entire row about an inch.

You certainly don't want the trim outside once the door is shut. I personally feel the best effect is achieved by having the seal go about a third of the way under the flexible vinyl seal so it makes a nice tight seal with the slab, the ramp edge and flexible seal all coming together. As long as you are into that garage door bottom seal less then halfway, you are good to go.

This is how I did mine, I positioned enough tiles snapped together with the edging to cover the width of both doors. Brought the doors down and slid the ramp under the gasket slightly, made sure they were square with the walls and then started laying the tile.

that helps tremendously...if I do it that way I may escape having to cut tile on the opposite wall
