Hi All, well I moved into my new house last week and I was finally able to install my new RaceDeck garage floor. This was an early birthday present to myself, so I was pretty excited to get it installed first thing. I literally signed the closing documents, painted the garage, and put the floor down. I figured if I didn't do it first thing, it could take me weeks to clear the garage once we started moving.

First thing's first...RaceDeck customer service is AWESOME. I ordered this floor about 2 months ago, and as soon as it was delivered I stuck it in my old garage for storage. Well, a week before the move I went in t organize the boxes and I noticed I only had 13 of 14 boxes that should have been delivered. Immediately I tracked the order but UPS showed everything had been delivered. After hours of searching for the missing box I gave up decided to call RaceDeck to see what could be done. Well, not more than 3 minutes on the phone with Jenn, she said that the missing tiles will be shipping out today. My next question is "How much will this cost me?". "Nothing, we will deal with it on our end." Now that is customer service...there was no questions...no searching...no proving anything. 2 days later the box arrived at my door step. RaceDeck's customer service is second to none. Thank you RaceDeck and thank you Jenn.

Alright, here is the before picture I had just finished painting the garage. I matched the blue stripe to the blue racedeck tiles, and the lower grey to the Alloy racedeck tiles.

And here is the finished product. It took me 3 hours start to finish by myself. I used a portable table saw for the cuts.

And last but not least...about 1200 time lapse pictures stitched together to form a 2 minute video of the installation process.

And to fill my new garage I have built these two custom tool cabinets. Shortly I am going to build a custom bench to match these two items:

Look great, well done. You should start up a thread and post some before pics and document your further progress.

Wow, what a transformation the RD tiles make! The fact that you were able to do it quickly is even more impressive to me. No muss, no fuss, just great results!

Floor looks great!

I noticed you laid down that landscaping fabric. Do you think it is worth it?

Also, where are you located to get two day shipping?

Sounds like you had an overall good experience :)

Thanks everybody! I laid down the fabric just because quite a few people recommended it. I didn't really "try" the floor without it...I just always figured I would put it down with the install. I would rather do that then install the entire floor only to find out that the "clacking" annoys me (or my wife!).

I am located in Arizona, and I believe Racedeck is in CO or UT so it came UPS Ground and arrived in 2 days (if I remember correctly).

Thanks,

John

Sure Jorgen, would you like the actual file or do you just want to use the YouTube link?

Yea I realized I took a couple of breaks once I watched the video :). Had to answer an email here and there. Yes it is a double wide garage with one space extra deep (for a 3rd vehicle). The wide angle on the camera really skews the view and makes it look much smaller than it is. Funny enough I am 6'7" and I feel like a dwarf in the garage...the doors and ceilings are much higher than my previous standard garage. The video does make it look quite a bit smaller than it really is. And remember...the camera adds 10 pounds or so :)

Great looking garage! And i REALLY love those cabinets..

You have any more pics of the cabinets? I have considered making some hybrid metal/wood cabinets myself. It looks like you used square tubing for the frames, How did you attach the wood panels on the sides to the steel frame?
