Replaced the VCT tile in the display area of my shop with RaceDeck Freeflow. I used FreeFlow because I have a hydronic heated floor and did not want to impair the heat flow. The installation was trouble free, I am pleased with the results and the customer service was great.

Nice and I was not expecting to see such beautiful Messerschmidt’s when I clicked in this thread.

Man, I want these in my shop. I just need to justify the cost. I've looked at the Ebay/Vevor tiles but I'm sure I want to risk the problems even with the cost saving (my shop floor is 29'x29').

I'm going with the HybridX tiles (on ebay) on one of the other threads in here. pretty sure i'll be happy with them and they sound like a great product for the $$

I’m curious about your rationale of the radiant heat. Have you had a chance to notice whether there is a difference? Is there other experience you’re relying on?

I’m mid-build on a new garage with radiant heat. I’ve decided to use Racedeck, but this never crossed my mind.

In my mind it only made sense to not impair the flow of air over the slab. The VCT that I had was not conventional tile, it was peel and stick and was very thin. I also preferred the look of the free flow over the coin or diamond pattern. The heating system works excellent, this the second building I have a
had with hydronic. I designed the structure of the building around the heating system.

Thanks. My building is up and I expect to pull the trigger on this purchase really soon. I'm not going to have water or snow runoff, and I like the Diamand tile for catching spills, but your comment made me think. My hope is that the 2" insulation under the concrete would be more limiting to heat transfer than either tile, so path of least resistance, right? I've got a question in to RaceDeck to see if they have any specific info or data. Will see.

It would be nice to know if, non freeflow, Racedeck tiles interfere with heat transfer. I too have radiant heat.

We’ll find out this winter, though I won’t really have a comparison. I’d think RaceDeck would have some data, if they were willing to share.

Before I did my garage addition I had Racedeck and generally I liked it but I am in Orchard Park NY and with the snow / salt and sand we get, I would not do it again. I did epoxy mortar when I redid the garage and it's way easier to clean but it also cost $20,000 for 2000 SF. Before and after photos.

PS - the OP has a very very cool space.

With that lineup of cars, I doubt you’re out in much snow and slush - haha. In my case, the snow covered cars will be in the old garage, and this one reserved for others.

In the old garage, only one space was for the daily driver that brought all the **** in. I used the tiles that allow water to run under and for that it was good but all the **** built up underneath.

I like the product but for me, I would only use in a non snow location. Everything has pros / cons.
