Hey all, just finished a racedeck floor in my garage. It came out amazing. I will be posting pictures shortly (been busy on my honeymoon and whatnot). The install went well.....althought I had two issues which were my own dumb fault. First.....I started in the wrong corner, so after laying two rows down i had to spin it around on the floor. (by default everything I put together winds up being backwards....you should have seen my tv stand the first time around)

The next issue is when i cut the tiles for against the far wall.....I cut them backwards. Sooo I needed to order about 20 more. Jennifer at Racedeck was a huge help with this. They arrived a few days later and all is well now. Between how good there cutomer service was and how great there product is I am a very satisfied customer.

Nice! I like the boarder around the edge rather than just the checkerboard all the way to the wall.

I have yet for anyone to tell me how much of a hassle it is when you spill oil or other fluids and it goes between the tiles and you have to take it up and clean the mess?

Once you have the hang of using a putty knife to "unlock" the tile you can have it out in about a minute or so (video on their web site about how to do it). Solid tiles, probably not much will leak through it it doesn't set there for a long time.

Looks great. Are these the flow through type or the solid style?

the red and black boarder are the coin style solid tiles (i hate the diamond plate look so i went with the coin, just personal preference) and the checkers were made iwth free flow, mainly for the center drain in the garage.

Does the floor have to be completely flat to accomodate these tiles?, or can it have a 'slope' for a drain?

Its super easy to lift the tiles and clean up, but what you will find is dry clean concrete underneath, you do NOT need to pull up the tiles, just clean the mess on top. But if you wanted to...its easy to pull up tiles.

I have one of the most uneven floors on the planet with a crack running down a part of it, the tiles work perfectly. Id definitly recommend these for those with uneven floors.

Thanks.

Just curious to know how much uneasiness (should be minimal) the tiles can accommodate.

Are the tiles square with the walls still on your floor?

racedeck1,
I stopped by the booth while at SEMA. I grabbed some litature, but did not get a chance to ask & did not find it addressed in the brochure..... How do the tiles do in relation to jack stands over a period of time (like a month or two)??? I have a full size truck (Nissan armada) & do regular maintenance on it. i am also in the process of a truck project as well. I am interested in the tiles but have a concern about jack stands.....

thanks!!

Plain2car- You will want to go with a solid tile such as the CircleTrac (Mine) or Diamond tile. Works very well with jackstands with no deep impressions left behind. Very sturdy tile.

Schurkey- Don't be scared :) Google Racedeck and you will see many online retailers. Pricing generally is around $3.49 a 12x12 tile.

I share camaro0991's enthusiasm for Racedeck.

Here are a few photos of my install. I chose the Racedeck CircleTrac.

Install is 4 squares of white and black, alternating, with the black border.

I use a piece of ply wood under each stand just to be on the safe side with the free flow, but its precautionary. A small piece of plywood under each stand would work as well.

themacnut, thats a really nice setup

What is the cost per tile; or per thousand tiles?

I don't see pricing on the web page; and that scares me a lot.

Garage journal members used to get special pricing ordering through race deck by telling them your a member, not sue if that special is still going on or not. I'd deal directly with them though as thier customer service is second to none.
