Racedeck, it doesn't make any sense to me?

Am I missing something with this flooring, if I am working on my car and any fluid spills which inveitably happens at some point, does the fluid just get under the tiles, it would seem like this would be a real pain for being serviceable? I would love to get it for the area my vehicles park but this worries me. Thanks

Uh-Oh......with a title like that you're gonna get a lot of advice as to why it makes sense. I can't wait to hear how great it is and how nothing could ever penetrate under the tiles. Personally I think it's great if you have a problem floor (major cracks or stains) and want to cover up or hide your problems rather than solving them. If you have the $$ and want to go from sh*t to shiney in a hurry than it may be for you. There, that ought to get the ball rolling......

Racedeck is a band-aid. I hate it. We have it installed where I work and have had numerous occasions where a water tank has overflowed and there is no way we can get under them to clean it out without tearing up 800 square feet of it. It doesn't look nice for very long, and if oil gets on it, it is almost as slick as snot. Not quite though.

It does make a **** floor look better quickly. I'd only use it if it was free.

That is what I thought, I like the idea of thinking I could bring it with me if I move, but it would seem like spills under it would happen regularly and I thought maybe there was something I didn't understand about this product.

I do think it would be useful with my epoxy to maybe line two strips for the tires which get the most wear but not for the rest.

I did a Race Deck type floor in my attached garage. The floor was pretty ugly, but for better or worse it was a smaller 2 car so whatever I did would not be a huge project.

I used Sport Court partially because I liked the pattern on the tiles better. People regularly comment on how nice it looks. I like the look too.

It's hard to clean thanks to the texture, makes clickety noises when walked upon, and when the afternoon sun hits...it buckles. You are supposed to leave a gap to allow for swelling in the sun and I thought I did it right.

In the end, for a "pretty" garage it looks good, goes down quickly. For a "functional" garage, there are better flooring options IMHO.

we are going to use it for a trade show booth (my recomendation)
because we can keep using it over and over and set it up to different sizes and shapes.

Everything has it's place. We like to give our clients many different solutions for their flooring problems. Racedeck is one of them. Usually on a heavily deteriorated floor, a thin epoxy system will not suffice and will require to resurface with a 1/4 inch thick system that can be costly. The alternative is a Racedeck type system. It's a band-aid in that scenario but in some cases it's want the client wants or feels it's best for him or her.

I think I'll use epoxy in my garage. Concrete cracks that are deeper than surface cracks probably cannot be fixed with epoxy. The movement of the concrete is causing those cracks.
