Hello All,
I bought enough racedeck to do the shop in my last house. When I moved, I decided to take it up and put it in the new shop.

Taking it up wasn't a bad job. Putting it down wasn't a bad job either but during the build, the shop became the "catch-all" place for everything! The flooring really took a beating and was not looking very good for it.

Once day, after all the building supplies were removed, I decided to take a mop to the racedeck. I was tired and I just wanted to make it look presentable again. There was a bucket of old water used to mop something that day or the day before but I decided it would be ok to use......WRONG!

This left a coat of crud on the racedeck, attached to the sides of the diamond designs, that was the hardest thing I have ever tried to remove in my life.

This is what the floor looked like. Yuck!

I mopped with everything from SimpleGreen to plain water more times that I care to admit. Finally, I decided to mix some Denatured alcohol and water and scrub with a stiff bristle brush. This took 99% of the yuck off. What was left required a one - one- hand brushing.

This is the floor after the scrubbing. It was clean enough but lacked any luster.

I called Racedeck and ordered a gallon of their "Restore". I mopped it on the floor with a sponge mop and Wow, what a difference this stuff made.

Here's the finished product.

My shop floor does get used. I protect the floor when welding or hard grinding and all my work had taken a toll on the appearance of the Racedeck. Then add the dirty mopping and I had a real problem to solve. I've read where others had issues with their racedeck loosing it's luster so if your having trouble getting yours to look good again, give Restore a chance.

Many thanks to everyone at Racedeck for all the great customer service.

Cheers!

James,
Thanks, I'm not sure what all was in the bucket. I believe it was the bucket the float and tapers cleaned their tools in. Lesson learned!

Cheers!

Mick: lesson learned about using old buckets of water and glad yours had a happy ending. you could just say you got some great forearm workouts and exercise to help your golf game.

the floor looks great and of course so does your cars, lift, man cave and new home.

cheers and hope you get a hole-in-one this year

what does that Restore product do to the surface? is it a cleaner or does it make it slippery like a silicone would make it look pretty but slick?

My Racedeck has taken a beating from dirt, salt, grease and chemical spills that were not whipped up or cleaned with brake cleaner (friends working in the garage), will the restore help clean these up?

Any Racedeck reps want to chime in?

I'd sure like to know an answer to your question regarding cleaning, and what to expect with Wisconsin winter abuse, especially salt.

I'm really liking this flooring, and already have a design set, however winter months may really test my patients with keeping these floors to my satisfaction.

Garage Looks great and the floor came out really nice.

The Mopar on the garage door, is that a vinyl sign or painted on? Looks great.

I should add my floor is all white, purchase from someone who used it for a few trade shows.

I can't say what all the "restore" will fix but I will share this. Last week, I was pulling the gas tank out of my 'Cuda and spilled about 3-4 gallons of gas on the floor. My concern was the residual fumes so I popped a section up about 6' square, pulled it outside and washed it with soapy water (top and bottom sides). I then mopped the concrete floor where I discovered not much gas got thru but did it anyway. The next morning, after everything was dry, I popped the RaceDeck back into position and found my shinny finish was gone. The tiles was all flat looking. I was concerned I had done irreparable damage to the finish but after I re-mopped with Restore, you couldn't tell which tiles had been removed.
I will never run out of restore, this stuff is awesome! Thanks Jorgen for a great product and a great way to keep it looking awesome!
