Here on the East Coast we have huge swings in dew point and I occasionally get condensation on my garage floor. I'm torn between these systems and like them both but I'm concerned about how each would do with moisture. The syn fabric underlayment would be required with RD plastic tiles because I'm concerned about noisy. Would this trap moisture? SupraTile claims their tiles breath through the seems. Wondering how effective that really is since the tiles are 24". I also don't see many users of SupraTile on the forum, wonder why?

Supratile is a decent tile. It is PVC. They lock very tightly and the only PVC system that I have seen that truly allows moisture to escape well is the NORSK system.

PVC Tiles (In general)

  • Not a square edge, but square is available
  • Much Quieter
  • More of a seamless look
  • Less stuff gets through
  • More likely to stain from tires.

Polypropylene Tiles In General

  • More Stain Resistant
  • Noise can be an issue but is easily mitigated
  • Moisture generally can enter and exit the system with ease reducing the likelihood of mold / mildew.
  • More popular in garage environments
  • Some would argue easier install.
