Racedeck over rough concrete?

My concrete floor is pretty rough, not crumbling but it's seen better days. I've already purchased Racedeck flooring to go over it, just waiting for new garage door to be installed before installing the flooring. My question is: should I do anything to try to cover the concrete before installing the Racedeck? My inclination is no, since it will be covered, it isn't crumbling, and there probably isn't any easy way to seal it. Nonetheless I thought I would post here for feedback before the floor goes down. Some photos are below:

I wouldn't sweat it - I put down my racedeck over concrete that makes yours look nice and I've had no issues.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. My wife keeps asking if we should seal it before putting the floor down, to which I've replied "no" about 50 times. It's been driving me crazy, but now I have the definitive answer!

Thanks. A racedeck type solution was the only option because the concrete was quite pitted. I wasn't sure I was going to like having tile on top of the concrete, but once installed I'm very happy with it. It's easy to install and my 10-year-old had a great time helping out.

The door is an Amarr Composite blend of synthetic material and wood that we had stained. We chose the composite because real wood is supposed to have maintenance issues over time. There were many issues in getting the door ordered and installed, but ultimately I'm happy with it. This thread has more info: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32243. I will post some outside photos in that thread a soon as I get a chance to take some.

We spent a lot of time looking through the racedeck photo gallery and decided on this one. I think you'll be happy with it. I'm jealous of your 3 car garage. I put off fixing up or garage as we were looking for a home with a larger garage, but never found anything suitable so finally decided to update our current garage -- should have done it a long time ago.

We had the new garage door put in first and then put the tile right up to the edge of the garage door, so the door still mates with the concrete. We were pretty lucky in that the tile + edging fit perfectly -- no cuts required and it fit almost perfectly against the door.

It's very critical that you have tiles oriented proper when you put them down -- just watch the video on the racedeck site and follow it exactly and you'll be set. That process shows starting back with garage door edge and moving towards that back wall. I first started putting it down with the tiles oriented 180 degrees off and had to restart, but fortunately wasn't far into it.

And if you have any questions along the way, just drop us a line or give us a call

Jorgen,

Is there a link were we can we buy the racedeck cleaner and conditioner? I've seen mention of it, but don't see it on the racedeck site.

Thanks,
Peter
