It is time that I do something with the flooring in my garage (3-bay, 40x25) and am looking at RaceDeck. I know Jorgen comes online here often, so I am looking for his thoughts, as well as others. I build race cars in the third bay (2-post in-ground lift) so have a few questions:

1 - Can I put RaceDeck completely underneath the lift arms, meaning that when the lift comes down the base/arms would rest on the tiles (see pictures)? The lift comes down with weight, there is nothing that actually pushes it down so it will stop when it rests on something.

2 - How do things roll on RaceDeck? I have engine hoists, work carts, tubing bender on wheeled frame, etc, so I wouldn't want to make it too difficult to roll these things around.

3 - Is there a sale going on now? :)

Thanks,

Ron

In our garage, we have two Benpak lifts that work the same way and hve been in use for nearly 10 years on the same floor

2 - How do things roll on RaceDeck? I have engine hoists, work carts, tubing bender on wheeled frame, etc, so I wouldn't want to make it too difficult to roll these things around. Our patent tread makes it pretty easy to roll most all items across the floor and the raidiused design, tread height make it so it does not hop across the floor

3 - Is there a sale going on now? As a GJ member you get great prices just email Jenn at [email protected] and mention you are a member.

Thank you for considering RaceDeck

second answer to #2. Sometimes you have to give it a extra little push to get things moving but once moving it rolls along easily. And the best part is that it stops and stays put and does not roll into your Ferrari's paint job causing you to teach your young daughter some new words.

I have a question about racedeck tiles also, not to hi jack your thread ron g....but are they clickity-clack when you walk on them? Ive walked into places that had some garage floor tiles (brand unknown to me) and they where really loud and hollow sounding....

I was just thinking about doing race deck tiles rather than the dye/sealer I was planning. My two questions are:

1) If you spill oil on them does it get under them?

2) What do you do about expansion on hot days?

We laid a synthetic garden fiber on the floor before installing the RaceDeck tile. Helps cut down on whatever noise you would have. It isn't as clicky clacky as you would think. Liquids may or may not migrate under the tile. Most liquids will evaporate, oil...you may have to lift a few tiles to clean that up if it worked it's way under. Any floating floor will expand some if exposed to direct sunlight long enough. We've had ours for a year now and never noticed...

Do the free flow tiles trap dirt underneath or can you hose/pw the dirt away w/o removing the tiles?

I was just thinking about doing race deck tiles rather than the dye/sealer I was planning. My two questions are:

1) If you spill oil on them does it get under them? - The seams between each module are small enough that is causes hydro-static tension, keeping dripping water and liquids from flowing through. Any liquid that does go through will either evaporate or flow through the patent channel bottom. If needed, you can also simply pop out a tile or section to access the sub floor.

2) What do you do about expansion on hot days? Once the floor is properly installed and set, the expansion happens with each module. In some unsusal enviroments , we work with you to get your floor set in properly

Call us anytime and we can go over your particular garage

Are garagedeck and garagetrack made by you guys too?

Are you guys in Salt Lake? I'll be going down there soon. If picking up tile would save some money I'd be more swayed to buy some lol.
