Has anyone gotten the FreeFlow XLC and combined them with regular solid tiles? I currently have a garage floor that is all FreeFlow. I'm building a second larger garage and am considering mixing XLC with the solid XL tiles. I bought a lift last spring and It is moving to the larger garage. I think solid tiles would work better under the lift and the adjoing area while still having FreeFlow in most of the rest. The XLC are slightly taller and I'm not sure if that extra lip would bother me when transitioning from the solid tiles. They should really make the XL tiles the same thickness as the XLC.

Is the height difference small enough that you don’t notice it when going from solid to XLC? I worry about tripping/stumbling.

I have FreeFlow, XLC and 3x3 smoked oak large format all connected. The XLC to FreeFlow there is virtually no height difference. There is a significant "lip" where either meets the smoked oak. I thought there would be a catch/trip issue, but it has not been a problem, though in the traffic area, I see it's abrading the edge of the wood laminate at the transition.
This is my 4th Racedeck floor I've installed and am a fan of the product, but I won't get the wood look again. Because it is LVT glued over Racedeck tiles, the edges are just not tight. That's what accounts for the height difference as well. Some meet up well, other edges there is about a 1/64" to 1/32" gap that looks sloppy and, because of the glue, catches and holds dirt. I would have been better gluing LVT to the subfloor and using an edge trim to meet the Racedeck. This wood look was way too pricey for the end result IMO. It's a good choice for temporary flooring , like at a car show or if you wanted to set up a dance floor for an event.

I have the 36" Charred Oak with the Free-Flow XLC I used as a runner to the staircase on one side. I am very pleased with the fit-up.
