I have 2 garages i'm concerned about. One is a rental unit that the contractor cheaped on the concrete. Mine gets used as in floor jacks and pulling engines etc. Spilled fluids like oils and Antifreeze are unavoidable. I assume the same for the rental.
Jacks and Jackstands can put a lot of pressure on the floor. It is not too hard to modify good jackstands to spread the weight out but a rolling floor jack? How do the various floor types handle that kind of use?

I've always wondered this. I'm a frequent user of jackstands and floor jacks and I'm not sure how the RaceDeck flooring would hold up. My other concern is whether or not it's hard to roll things around, **** as rolling stools/benches, tool carts, jacks, etc.

I'm about to lay some supa-lock pvc tiles in my garage, I think they will stand most abuse but will be putting thin plywood under stands and jacking point just to be sure.

I cannot speak for Racedeck, but I am sure Jorgen will chime in. Tuff Seal and most American made garage floor tiles will handle the jacks, etc fine. Tuff Seal also posts a very impressive chemical resistance chart in the back of their brochure.

I know race deck is used by many individuals in rain/snow. If no issue with budget would you go with racedeck as it seems to be the most proven brand.

They are two very different styles of garage flooring. RaceDeck is a suspended modular flooring that has a patent structural design to allow air, moisture and liquids to flow freely under neath the floor ( no mold, mildew,etc issues). RaceDeck is also made from the highest grade proprietary high-impact polymers to resist most all chemicals and to handle extreme rolling loads. We do manufacture many PVC ( soft vinyl) floor products but none for the garage use.

I have a question about RaceDeck. What happens if the tiles don't fit the space precisely? Can they be cut? If not, how is this approached? I imagine most garages don't take an exact number of tiles to all edges.
Also, how do I go about getting a free sample?

Yes you can cut them easily with a saw, i used a skill saw when i did my trimming. As for the sample contact them directly www.racedeck.com

Jorgen, with a scissor lift having wheels that will role back and forth on them. Do you know of any issues with scissor lifts and your flooring?

a lift like that will wear nearly any surface unless you put down metal pads to roll on, even epoxy wears right through after soem use with this kind of lift

don't want salt & sand in between my tiles so I choose Tuff Seal. In one winter there is enough sand & salt coming off my DD to fill 5 - 5gal. pails and no place for it to go.

I hope I can talk you into posting some pics with versus without the sealer. I know it made a huge difference in my garage.

I am a newbie to this group. My application is a 22'7" X 22'8" garage (530sqft). I have used the Rustoleum Epoxy kit before only to be disappointed in the long run. My current garage floor in my new house (well it's new to me) has a sealer on it and I would have to spend a lot of work to remove it before I applied the Epoxy and sprinkles. The cost of materials is about $300.00 and the cost to have a contractor do the complete job would probably be around $600.00... when I add tax we are talking around $1,000. I'd rather spend $2,500 for a great looking floor that cleans up easily and will last forever. But, before I plunk down the cash I have a few questions that I need answered... hope you can help:

1. I was quoted $3.89 and no shipping fees for the Tuffshield tiles. What is the forum discount for the TuffShield tiles?

2. What do you do about leaves and dirt getting down through the tiles to the concrete? I would think that this would create mold and an awful smell after a while.

3. If the tiles are noisy, how do you correct this problem.

4. Do the tiles feel like you are walking on a funny surface? EG: are they wobbly or do they seem to float.

I've been watching this thread for months. I would love to see what this is all about. I'm moving into a rental Townhome that was newly constructed so I want to keep the floor clean while adding some style to it. It's 38' x 16' tandem style garage. Is there anyway you can me pm a range of pricing to cover that area and what you'll recommend? I debating on going with a blue/black checker and gray border setup with the vented pieces for the middle since I do live in North Jersey and it would be great for all weather conditions.

I'm new to this site and have read with great interest all of the posted comments and questions on garage flooring. I'm currently planning out a race deck floor but also see they have another brand, "garage trac". Does anyone have experience with that product and the comparison to the racedeck floor tiles ? The price difference is significant.
