FreeFlow and Diamond if possible.

was looking at freeflow and was wondering how everything looks and works.

Am I the only one who thinks that looks like a major hassle compared to their solid offerings for areas with harsh winters? I love the look of the free flow but will probably go circle or diamond when the time comes so I can just sweep and mop.

Well for some like me the water (snow melt) is more annoying (way more) that dirt...

I often go in the garage as our freezer and extra food are there. With regular flooring, its just a mess of snow and water pooling an then going to the center drain. Every box, shelving or metal item that touches the floor gets rusted and disgusting.

When the snow and dirt falls in chunks from the truck, it splashes all my stuff near the truck.

With freeflow the floor is always dry and you can walk on it without wearing shoes every single time.

For me that's much more important than the cleaning process.

Also I think cadillacking has no drain so that's a major difference I'm cleaning ease.

In my case i'll just hose it down regularly and should not have to vacuum or pressure wash except once in the spring.

I'll let you know next winter...

This picture is from a garage where RaceDeck had been for over 14 years and only washed in place ( no drains, only sloped floor) I have more that I will search through our files for:beer:

It all comes down to how you will be using your floor, type of climate, and look you're going for.

I keep meaning to snap a pic before i clean, but it will basically just be a salty floor in my case. The snow melts and water and debris fall through the tiles. Once its dry i do a vacuum, then mop up. At the end of winter i'll pull up a section and do a thorough clean. All comes down to personal preference. During the winter i usually do a floor clean-up about once a month depending on weather conditions.

I park my daily driver in there every night. I took this pic after cleaning the floor on Saturday. Please note that i live in Ottawa, Canada. We have a solid amount of snow right now and wind chill temp this morning was minus 35 Celsius..... brutal!

Dubber, what did you use to paint your stem walls in the garage?

I used CIL Smart 3 100% acrylic Triple Weather Protection paint for Masonry, Stucco, siding with built in primer. Picked it up from Home Depot in Canada.

Used the same thing in my last garage and i'm very happy with the results. There are a few before and after pics in my thread. I find it really helps to tie in the Race Deck with the walls.

Here's what the floor handles really well.

I have a non Racedeck floor, with free flow tiles. Right now the floor is black right around the car from stuff melting off the car. But as others have said I can walk all around the car, save for where the tires actually go, in my socks without getting wet. When it warms up and dries out I take the garage vacuum and clean the floor and **** up whatever is under it. The upright vac with power brush head does a very good job. I have found the vac will 'sweep' the entire garage floor faster than my 3' wide broom and there will be minimal dust in the air when done. Plus the looks from my neighbors when I am sweeping the garage with a vac are priceless! :)

Im really digging that alloy border with the graphite color.

I went with Black, red and graphite in my last garage ( dubber's single) and thought i should change it up a bit. Really happy i swapped red for alloy this time. Highly recommended!

All high-sheen, diamond plate. This is where my wife parks her Audi, and we have snow and chemicals on the roads right now. Looks good, but had I to do it over I'd have put a couple of rows of drain tiles where you see the drip residue. I didn't originally because I didn't want small parts getting lost when they bounce on the floor, but I do most my mechanical work in the other bays anyways. Photo taken this morning on my way out the door...

I actually have a Boxster S, the Ghibli is a Maserati North America press car. It's the SQ4 all wheel drive. I had it for tire testing, this one has Pirelli Winter SottoZero's on it and just rips in the snow! Lots of fun and great sound. Too bad we had to give it back :)

I just discovered this free flow tile, how well would a creeper roll across it? and what would be a ballpark figure to do about a 2 1/2 car garage?

Here you go, with all the nastiness......This is after snow and ice has melted away. All that remains is the grit and salt.

Can't simply rince it off with the garden hose???

Methinks it would be flushed in the drain.
