I had the concrete floor cut then I dug out the fill and poured surface of new concrete 4/34" below the floor grade. I can park over lift bc the lift is below floorgrade, an it is out of sight
When car is parked an then you can't trip, or again see anything. Love it

Looks great! How high is your ceiling?

Ceiling is just over 10' (121") from the floor to against the walls. I am sure it is a little taller in the center as the floor slopes to the center drain, but then again the ceiling may sag a little to match :)

My top car is within a couple inches from the ceiling especially when I raise it up off the lock position, but carefull measuring (several times) seemed to pay off as it fits great. Only problem now is the lower car can not be more than 60" tall, so I am limited to sedans as a daily driver. No SUV for me unless the wife gets rid of the one that goes on her side of the garage!

Did you do the work yourself? I am contemplating the same...just not sure after saw rental, jackhammer, removing material etc....is it worth it or to get someone to do it?

It's worth it. Get someone to cut an remove concrete. Then u could pour it yourself. That's what I did

Same project in my future, with the same lift. How did you tie the sunken pad into the existing floor? Details would be very much appreciated!

Sure! With the slab cut an removed, you would be looking at the fill that was under the slab. Measure height of lift in the down position. Add 4 inches for the new slab of concrete. Install wire mesh in the new slab for extra strength. When pouring the concrete install a piece of quarter inch plate steel in the fresh concrete to provide a smooth surface for the rollers of the lift to move on. When finished the lift should be completely recessed in the slab so that you can drive a car over it. I hope this makes sense good luck! Gary
