Has anyone used the "closed cell" underlayment that you use under a laminate floor, under their racedeck floor? I would almost never have a wet car in the garage, so drainage isn't too much of a concern, but I was wondering if the underlayment would help eliminate the "clicking" noise under the racedeck as well as provide some insulating properties. Thoughts?:headscrat

We use that or a TPO underlayment, but we do it with our JNK Coin & JNK Diamond tiles. We also use it under Swisstrax. We just used it in our showroom and I would say it is worth every penny for the TPO underlayment.

The floor we went over was terrible but with the TPO underlayment we get no noise and no problems

I do not know how this would work with other brands but I can think of no reason it would not work. You can find a picture of the underlayment in use here http://www.jnkproducts.com/images/swisstrax/IMG_0708.JPG

Jskco, do you have a sample of your diamond tile that you can send? I was going between VCT (installed by a local flooring place) and racedeck (installed by me) and there is only a $400 delta between the two. I have about a 600sf garage. How does your product compare to the racedeck?
What I find so appealing about the racedeck v. VCT is while the VCT looks great, there is maintenance (stripping and waxing on occassion and frankly that is all time better spent on working on my car or doing stuff with the family).
PM me if you can/do sell single tiles so that I can compare to the racedeck.

Thanks
Paul Manuel

Also, which is better for a standard garage, coin pattern or diamond? I will be rolling creepers, jacks engine hoists etc...is one better than the other for those tasks?

I love the diamond! Please email me your address at [email protected] and I will send you full sized samples of the coin and the diamond which will also allow you to see how well they lock. I will include a piece of underlayment as well
