My garage is heated and mainly used for parking cars woodworking and drinking beer. Live in cold climate so snow and salt are common. How does Racedeck hold up under a refrigerator, tool cabinets shelving etc. Basically looking for overall Pros and Cons of Racedeck. Thanks

I had a refrigerator on my flooring. no issues at all.

But, I did not have heated floors. That would be really nice.

I have RaceDeck in my garage. I have a fridge, multiple tool boxes, cabinets and Vidmars on my floor without issue. I will suggest, that if you use a floor jack or jack stands to make plywood pads for the them, as the decking will dimple and discolor. Just a little protection. I have had it down for over 3 years now, with high foot traffic, and shop usage and it is holding up pretty good.

1969 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet with Ram Air and a 4 speed. I had it restored as it was a mess when I bought it and restoring it was the plan to begin with. 2 1/2 years and a stack of 100 dollar bills later was all it took. Thanks. Those are my favorites also. CJDave.

I have 2 sets of jack stands. The set with the bottom edge rolled under are fine on my Free Flow. The other set has a straight edge along the bottom and those will leave marks so I use plywood pads under them. Dave R.

I love my RaceDeck tiles, but my floor jack did damage two of my tiles. Now I going to buy a rubber pad to put under the jack next time.

I have had it in my home garage for 12 years over radiant heat and it has weathered well. I have it in my main shop over radiant heat and beat it pretty good. Just use common sense like using plywood under a floorjack and such so you don't damage it. Pics are when I first built the shop and just started moving in.

I'm curious about this as well. If I spilled oil or noticed the grime building up I'd be compelled to pull the tiles and clean under it. Surely the guys with these floors aren't pulling them up several times per year to clean. Can someone weigh in on housekeeping with tiles?

I'm curious about this as well. If I spilled oil or noticed the grime building up I'd be compelled to pull the tiles and clean under it. Surely the guys with these floors aren't pulling them up several times per year to clean. Can someone weigh in on housekeeping with tiles?

I've had my RaceDeck floor down not quite a year yet, but I have to say that it hasn't gotten very dirty on the surface or under the surface yet. That said, my cars don't leak oil, so no worries there. When I change my oil, I put down a sheet of plastic to catch the inevitable spill. It's a small inconvenience, but like I commented earlier, with my old epoxy garage floor, I'd spend more time mopping up those spills, then having to clean the mop and bucket. So putting down a sheet of plastic is still a nice time saver.

Any leaves blowing in from outside tend to get "caught" in the tiles near the door, so that's a nice benefit as well. No more leaves all over the garage in the fall. And to clean them up, you can either sweep them out the door or just vacuum them up with a shop vac. You could probably even blow them out with a small leaf blower, but I haven't tried that yet.

I've cleaned my floor once so far and I vacuumed the dirt below the tiles (there wasn't a lot of it) with a shop vac and then I hit the top of the tiles with a damp mop.

Yes, the salt, water, slush, snow and grit drains through the openings in my Free Flow tiles. The slope of the concrete floor allows for the **** to drain towards the overhead door and out from under the tiles. A couple of times a year I hose the floor in conjunction with washing my Mustang which I wash inside the garage. I use the leftover car wash mix to clean the tiles with a long handled brush. Works great. The free Flow tiles prevent puddles and all but eliminate tracking stuff into the house.
There are a few complaints on here about the Race Deck tiles and they are mostly about the cost. The bulk of threads here seem to be related to the use of epoxy floor coatings and the problems that they bring. Surface prep, odors, not drying, lifting and whatever else. I realize that a DIY coating may be less expensive initially than tiling but in my opinion considering wear and tear, maintenance, slip hazard when wet, etc. I feel that I made the right choice for my situation. I use plywood pads attached to my jack stands, but putting plywood under a floor jack can be a PITA.

I'm with you , this stuff Is pricey , I was given the garage journal member discount but I don't think it was that good a price . I went shopping on line and found it cheaper than what race decks journal member price was ? Unless the phone quote was wrong , not much of a discount .

My 500sq.ft. cost just over $1533 and that included several extra tiles of all 3 colors and enough bevel edge pieces to do the overhead door edge in either of 2 colors so essentially I ordered 20 more bevel edge pieces that I used. I would not give it up for any other tile or coating all things considered. I overhauled the garage to befit the arrival of my Mach 1 after it's restoration so the floor was a small investment compared to the car's cost. Since swmbo parks her DD on the other half she gladly went along with the floor tiles.

My Mach 1 is a 351 , nothing special . The original color was Medowlark yellow , not a mans color so we had it repainted to a jade green . It wasn't as bad as your sounds like . Mine was a California car but It did need much attention on the interior due to sun fading . Carpet , seat covers , I re dyed most of the interior trim pieces . Reworked the engine , bored out , new cam , intake , etc. the ****** was just rebuilt this summer . After 40+ yrs it was very tired.

Believe it or not I gave to my wife for a wedding gift ,I just don't let her drive it !

When I was ready to buy my first new car , this was the model I wanted but it was $600 more than I could afford lol , not much in today dollars but in 69 . That was a lot .
I think the 69 Mach 1 was the pinnacle for Ford durning that era , maybe even untill now but I am some what partial like you.

I am not a sled rider , more of a back country snow shoer . I like the tranquility of the quit woods . Nothing like it in my mind . I was raised up here and can say no place like it .
We have snow and snowmobiles are already here , geez you guys love this stuff but then I live here so it's no big deal for us .

The Freedom Road Rally seems like quite an event. Nice! Never being one to know moderation, my Mach is a factory R code with a 4 speed and a blast to drive. Unfortunately I never seem to drive it a s much as I would like to. Just about time to cover it for the winter. I have gone sledding in the Thompsonville area, south of Traverse City.
