hello. I am considering different options for my floor. I really don't care that much that the floor is just plain concrete. my problem is that it is flat and doesn't drain to the door well, and with all the water and snow we get I am wearing out my squeegee lol. anyway I just had a thought that had not occured to me before. I know that the race deck has those tiles that are open and allow water to go through.

my shop is 60 x 40 so there is no way I am going to racedeck the whole thing much as I would love to do just that, but I was thinking that if I just put in a square where I park my two trucks say 25 x25 that would be feasible what I would like to do is put in a few of those perforated tiles and then glue the edge moulding down on three sides with some waterproof silicone or something. that should allow the water to flow under the racedeck and direct it to the door.

is this feasible?

Im confused.

Why would you glue down the threshold pieces?

Are you figuring that would hold it in place or just to redirect the water?

yes, I guess I did not explain that part well. next to where I park my trucks is a wall wood framed that seperates my wood shop and my garage. water has been pooling under this wall and through the door into my wood shop as well as spreading out inside my main shop and generally just looking bad so I want to seal 3 sides of the racedeck so that the water will run out the fourth side and out the door.

hi
You should not really glue any part of the RaceDeck floor, as it needs to function during thermal expansion cycles. What you could is use a separate vinyl ramp edging ( we can get for you) and glue that down just alongside the RaceDeck. You would want to do this at the warmest part of the day ( max expansion ).... we can explain in great detail once you are ready to install

thanks

Thanks I sent in a quote on your site. I am just brainstorming now. I hope to do something about the water issue before next winter. could you show me what that that vinyl ramp edging would look like?
