I suppose its time to introduce myself...
Hi, I'm Robert, and I'm a gear-head.
(Geez -- this sounds like an AA meeting...)
I starte4d wrenching on cars at the tender age of 5. My father collects along with the guns, swords, clocks, signs, and other stuff, he has a car collection -- Model-T's mainly (about 8 of 'em.) My first job as a kid was to help dad tear down a 1925 Model T he was restoring. I was tasked with coking every bolt, nut, and screw with penetrating oil before dad and my older brother came along to remove them. The 25 eventually got disassembled and restored, so I guess I did a good job.
These days, I race a 1988 Mustang GT in the National Auto Sport Association's American Iron series (well, I do when I can afford to, which hasn't been all that much lately.) I also am an instructor for a few high-performance driving schools: The Racecraft School, the Texas World Speedway Performance Driving Academy, and Revolution Performance Motorsports.
My shop is a 2.5 bay garage that houses my race car. It's SUPPOSED to also house one of my other cars, but instead, that half is filled with junk usually (overflow from the house, kids toys, overflow fromt he race car half of the shop, and miscellaneous junk.
I've just started my winter project -- clearing out the **** and organizing everything, so I'm over here, trolling for ideas and to see how other folks are solving their organisation problems. Part of my problem is I don't have a lot of wall space, so what I do have will be filled with shelving. Not attractive, but functional. Once done, the shop won't be much to look at, but it will at least be organized.
