Very true, wish i could have kept up the condition of the golf to my satisfaction. And its definitely a lot easier to sell a car well cared for.

Referring to the Youtube link you posted, man it would be sweet if we got the diesel version of the SQ5, man they get cool ****.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Close call tonight. I stopped by the dealership to pay off the loan on our Q7. They had a Volcano Red Q5 loaner on the lot. I hadn't seen the colour in person and it looked nothing like what I had thought. Luckily, I was able to change order. We are now going with Estoril Blue.

I'm not going to change any of my garage paint scheme. Afterall, the scheme is based on the Audi "S" anyway!

Blues are the new IN color, lots of folks getting Ss are going for the Estoril Blue..

Now, do I see a complete color scheme change for the garage coming?!

Its funny when different companies use the colour name another company has used. At least this is a fairly similar colour. One of the examples of the opposite of this is VAG's Imola Yellow, BMW's use of the name for Red.

The new colour choice is a better nod to the beast that lies within.

Maybe we can do a photo shoot when I get her!
You could then use it as a deterrent and let your vehicle know that if it doesn't give you trouble free driving you're taking it back to the ghetto garage to stay! :D

The colour looks incredible! I'm sure it'll fit in well with your garage. All very impressive to say the least.

Ok, so I was thinking of you tonight. Wife and I have been talking about picking up a new Q7. I test drove a Q5S and holy cow that thing was a fawking blast. Chirped the tires in 3rd and had it up to 90 in 4th (out of 8!!!) Fun toy. Still thinking the 7 is better and more comfy over all but a buddy and I were talking and the ****** in the S I think actually handles better then the original R8 ******. Jealous of your purchase! Cant wait to see it

"Behave yourself, or I'll send you to Schleprock!" I hope it doesn't ever come to that!

looks good

Thanks.

Congrats on the new car, that blue looks amazing on any of Audi's cars but especially on the SQ5. Can't wait too see the delivery pics of your new ride.

We were torn between red and blue, but seeing the Volcano Red in person did not sit well with me. I'm so glad we caught it before it was too late! I'm liking the blue more and more. My first car ('82 Horizon) was 2-tone blue, so it's been quite a while since I had a blue car.

I think it will look pretty cool nestled in the red/black garage. Thanks.

We were really close to pulling the trigger on the '14 Q7, but it's a carry over of the current model. It was supposed to be the year of the major overhaul, but that won't happen in NA until 2015. I loved our Q7 but it lacked the get up and go, so the SQ5 should tick that box quite nicely. I drove one, too. I had quite a blast behind the wheel of it. January can't come soon enough!

Are you and the Mrs. going the Q7 route? I would urge you to hold off until the arrival of the '15's.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Hi Nico,

Yes, I received the Blastor tool from Tornador. I ordered it directly from the company down in Florida.

I have only used it once. It was on my Kia which is quite clean so I can't say I saw tremendous transformation in the car's carpets. It was a good opportunity just to see how the contraption operated, and I was quite pleased with what I saw. It is just what it advertised; a "tornado" of compressed air dislodges the particles embedded in the carpet while the vacuum ***** them up. My compressor capably handled what was being asked of it. The attachment comes with two nozzles. I didn't get an opportunity to use the crevice tool, but I'm sure it will do the job.

I really find the products by Tornador to be ingenious. Yes, they are gimmicky, but they are a lot of fun to use and they deliver a good amount of performance imho.

I noticed you have a craftsman workbench. I also noticed the the work surface of the work bench is black. Is it Steel or wood? is Did you paint this black yourself? or did it come this way?

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

You know what, I just might get all enquiries to go directly to Dubber from now on! He's right. I ordered a strip of this rubber matting for the top of the Craftsman bench as well as my rolling box. It cost me an arm and a leg in hindsight, but it works. I don't do a lot (or ANY for that matter) heavy duty DIY so this type of material works well for me. The company has all kinds of options:

Also was wondering about the Race Deck Flooring. Is the black free flow tiles the same color but just turned a different way to get the checkered feel? or is there and actually different tile style you have to buy to get that look? Thanks

The Free Flow tiles differ from the other tiles. They come in the regular 1'x1' sections, but each square foot is divided into 4 - 6"x6" mini sections with a reversed pattern to the adjacent mini section. I hope that makes sense. Basically, there's no trick to the effect you see. The Free Flow tiles come like that. Let me know if that needs further clarification. I lack the mathematical vocabulary to clearly express what I'm trying to say.

EDIT: Dubber, no "S" yet!

Awesome :rocker: Might pick one up next year. I'm shopping around for a new compressor now since my 20G died and my 5G will not be able to keep up with it, or the new tools i want to get.

Thanks again!

Thanks Derrick. I'm rethinking the grey above the door. Not sure if I should go lighter or darker. Decisions decisions...

My garage door is white already thankfully hahaha. It does help to brighten up the space.

Rick, i'm thinking with the way you are, if your garage door was white originally this would have been an update with you painting it grey lol....

Nice job on the door Rick.
If you go lighter on the grey above it, that should give you the illusion of more height.
I say give it a try, you can always change it.
