Yup, life will be a lot simpler. Truth be told, I was very close (even had some money down) on a 2014 S4 in the same Estoril blue color as the SQ5, but came to my senses.

Rick, your posts do cause me to laugh at work.. carry on!

Lots of talk..... Let's see some action! :)

Ouch, now I'm thinking that statement was directed at me.. Because we both KNOW that Rick is busy doing up his wonderful garage right now....into something even cooler than before.

Things have been going well for my latest update. I am going to begin a tiling job today. It should be interesting since I've never done a tile job before. My hope is to post pics later tonight.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Well, the latest round of updates is complete.

I installed a couple panels of metal pegboard:

Moved the magnetic panels to the left. I had three photos there before, but this serves more of a purpose. I removed the upper shelf and added a "Vorsprung" decal with a little painted stripe:

I deleted the red stripe and relocated the clock to my "heater wall". I also removed the two car decals I had on opposite ends of the wall:

Moving over to my main wall, I spent a few days reworking the entire space. I added four upper cabinets. Painted a blue stripe and added a decal I had a guy in Latvia make up for me. I tiled for the first time in my life. 3x6 subway tile in a stacked pattern with a charcoal grout. It was intense going, but I pulled it off and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I added two more panels of metal peg above my compressor for those handy attachments and tools

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

This wall saw only a minor change. With the Kia sold, I relocated my Audi letters. I also deleted the grey and black "slashes" on all my paint stripes. I added another storage bar. My tire racks are empty at the moment because my winter setup is sitting at the dealer awaiting the arrival of the SQ5. I think I will use the second one to store the boy's bike trailer.

Nice additions Rick, as usual. So I'm curious, was the tile on the wall added just so it would be water proof for the brushes?

Also, the storage bar you have above the tile, is that the one from Ikea? It's long I noticed. Longer than I remember it from previous pics (but I could be wrong).

The Craftsman storage cabinets look great. I'd consider using them as well. And as you said, TONS of storage.

It really looks like you just made your space more functional than before. Which is great.

The thinking behind the tile was part function and part aesthetics. I was getting tired of that portion of wall getting marked, wet and dinged so tile will help with durability.

Indeed, those are storage bars from Ikea. They join up so that's two large bars and one medium bar. They come in three sizes. Previously, I had four large bars spanning the 12' across that wall.

Yes, I have ample storage (for) now.

Awesome garage! Great use of space.

Thanks.

That looks fantastic, I'm not sure if there is ever too much storage though ;^)

Now rest and enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas!

So clean and neat it looks like an HD version of a Solidworks design.
Awesome!

Thanks, she's looking proper.

You too!

Dec 30th, but probably a week to prep it. I'm very excited.

Free, but you have to pick them up in person.

Hey Rick, just curious as to what the black box is hanging on the wall between the stereo and pegboard ??

It's a key caddy.

Hope you used your SHOP YOUR WAY pts at Sears for all those cabinets.

I put my latest order through the American Sears website and saved 50% off what the Sears Canada site was charging. Not sure if I earned points or not.

Again, some great looking revisions.

Thanks. I am going to put some more vintage Audi-themed framed posters up and take a break for a bit.

I really like the touch of blue in the garage.

Bob

Thanks Bob. I am quite pleased with how well the blue fit in with my color scheme.

I have no idea to be honest. I have four two-bulb fixtures in there. I'm going to be replacing each of them with four-bulb fixtures in the very near future.

My new ride is in town. A matter of days before I bring her home!

Wow that is beautiful. She'll be adopted into a loving garage very soon and be out of the cold elements. Bet you can't wait to give it a good wash.

Congratulations on the new car. I really like the rims. With all that snow you might need to get a set of snow tires.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Thanks, guys. The 21's were an option that I couldn't resist.

Oh yeah. The dealer is mounting up my winter wheel set up. It's a 20" Audi style rim with Bridgestone Blizzaks. Along with the new car prep, they are doing the full hood/fender 3M and tint, too.

I look forward to seeing this girl perform in the snow. Should be pretty sweet.

Garage looks great!

You will love the SQ5...I got mine a few weeks ago, contemplated waiting for the Macan, glad I didn't wait.

Well, coming from a man with the stable you have, that is high praise.

Hey Rick, where did you get your stainless steel shelving above your toolbox? Your garage is awesome by the way!
