Free Flow. And not just because you have the Free Flow design. I like the option of being able to brush any soil from the top, then vac it up and then just a simple mop up. Plus I like the way it looks better than the solid tile design.

I agree, sad thing is I'm still way behind schedule on my garage. We've been doing a ton of work on the inside of the house recently. One day..maybe next year?

There is a 3" or so step from my garage floor to a slab that is level with the foundation of the house. I'm wondering if I should put anything on top of that slab or not? Do you have something like that?

No, my slab is all one level.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about "Racedecking" the elevated portion of your floor. But, if you do, you may want to do a solid tile for that portion. Looks like you have some heavier stuff up there. I am not sure how the edge will look.

I've been toying with the idea of RaceDeck on top of my epoxy floor. Not sure if I'm going to ever go through with it. But if I do, I'm thinking I might leave the "step" bare.

Winter just keeps dragging on up here and the road salt/sand mixture they use on roads is really getting to me. It's a relatively new product that the city is using and it is horrid. The entire city is coated with the ****, including my beautiful RaceDeck floor. Because they use so much of it, the snow and water on the roads is loaded with the stuff so it gets dragged in on the body of my vehicle as well as the tires.

As you get close up you can see just how awful this stuff is. It clings to every surface of my Free Flow tiles. I mop the floor pretty much every day, so the surface we are stepping on is relatively clean, but to truly clean the tiles thoroughly, I need to agitate with a bristle brush (of which I own many). For a city that won't allow washing of vehicles on driveways, I'm surprised they would use such an invasive chemical. They use 40 to 50 thousand tones of the stuff each year apparently.

All that said, the FreeFlow does a good job of keep the mess off the top of the floor tiles so we spend a few hours in there each day just hanging out and getting stuff done. The temperature here is supposed to go way up this weekend (plus-10 celcius) so maybe I'll get a chance to power wash the floor. One can only hope...

I wish my garage looked half as good as yours (when you'rs is dirty) on my garage's best day.

Looking at your garage, and how it has developed over time continues to give me hope. I also feel better knowing that you also have installed things, set them up and then realized it would be better to make changes (not just the paint colors, but also functionally). So it took time, trial and error to get it the way it is. Thank you for your inputs on my garage project and for being one of the people that's paved the way for many of us.

I'd imagine the answer for this is similar to why they won't allow us to wash our cars in my city. The environmental types are "concerned" about heavy metals and other contaminants flowing into storm drains...

Paul, the only answer I ever got to that question, was that the soap runoff was an environmental hazard. Even bio-degradable.

Have you looked into Optimum No Rinse? That stuff is pure magic.

I don't know if the mixture is the same up in Canada, but a associate of my Fathers said this years(could be previous as well) road treatment includes limestone!! Which is why when this stuff drys it is like cement on our vehicles.... I hot water rinse everything when I get home now that I heard this. I'm over this winter and ready for detailing weather!

Yup, that sounds like the same stuff. The entire city has been coated with the stuff multiple times. I shovel the snow and a day later the shovel is just caked with white residue. I take my car through the Glide car wash quite regularly and then finish by "rinse less" washing it in the garage.

I haven't actually tried that one yet. I have it saved in my cart at AutoObsessed.com right now, though. I am currently using Adam's Spray and/or Griot's Garage Spray On Car Wash. Plus, I have a whack of spray detailers. It's kind of a problem...

You should really try ONR Ricky, most likely the best out there. I'd also suggest trying No rinse wash & wax!

Aw man, I wish I hadn't seen this. Now I'm trying desperately for a place in the garage for the aluminum sign. Unfortunately every square inch of wall space is already spoken for. Maybe the inside of the garage door?

If you are going to use the ONR, I recommend at least rinsing your car out in the driveway first.

Even though it is designed to help lift any contaminants from the paint as you are wiping them off, the less that is on there to start, the better. Pressure wash the car in the driveway to get rid of any heavy grit, then use the ONR inside.

I had the most scratch and marring free results using ONR with a yellow masonry sponge. That seemed to hold a good amount of the product while simultaneously lifting the light contaminants away from the paint.

Ok two questions as I've never spotted your hose setup before and it's similar to mine, minus a few upgrades you've done that are on my list.

Where did you get your hose reel?

And What is the hose configuration? Did you have to reverse fit the fitting on to mate all those together? I've been trying to route mine together like that and and the drain hose is slick. Maybe a closer shot if you have time.

I ordered this hose reel through Griot's Garage. Cost me an arm and a leg but I love it. It is available through Griot's but it is actually manufactured by McNaught. It's from the Retracta line of reels

As for the hose config, I have this hooked up to the two hose bibs and the splitter puts the water to the reel and the short hose you see there.

Hey did you get your mop bucket from homedepot? I was going to buy 1 but the reviews on it was pretty bad. The handle would break off.

It's a Rubbermaid I picked up at Lowe's. It has been really good. If you put enough pressure on the handle it will fail, but that has only happened once. It snaps back in easy enough, but you get used to it pretty quick.
