Re: Rick's Audi Double

This storm decimated the trees in our area, it's going to keep the arborists busy for weeks. So far we have only lost one birch tree in the back yard but the house 2 doors down not so lucky.

Nice timing. Did you happen to take your trees with you? If not, they're dead and gone!

What a crazy week of weather!

Unfortunately not, I had someone check on my house today and he informed me that the tree in my front yard has snapped in half. It was about eight years old and luckily fell forward away from the house. :(

I love your garage. I am also a huge Audi fan. I plan to add some similar wall art on my garage someday. The Kia mix was also notable for me. I drive one brand and work for the other!

Well, the snow is gone, my summer wheels are back on the car, but the city's flora has been decimated. Luckily, my two trees survived.

I put a website together for my garage over the past couple of days. I'd love for you to check it out:

I really enjoyed the website. Nice job! Also, you put A LOT of pictures up there. One comment I wanted to add, in the storage space you might want to mention that you DO utilize storage outside of the garage to help keep it clean. Something along those lines.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.

No snow in Fort Mac! Haha, making me wanna stay here!

Here i am hopeing we have snow this year.

Cant believe the day by day comparison shot!

Yup, the storm left a swath of destruction. I don't think there was a tree that escaped unscathed. Well, some of the young trees seem to have survived, but you drive around an established neighbourhood with mature trees and it looks like a war zone.

It's kind of funny. When I had the Kia Optima and the Audi Q7, people thought it was crazy, but I didn't see them being worlds apart. Obviously, the Kia isn't up to the standard of an Audi, but they are coming up, for sure.

That is fantastic Rick.

Do you have anything else planned for your garage?

I will probably be upgrading my four light fixtures to 4-lamp models, but nothing else really on my mind. Oh, I am also in the contemplation stage on a trench drain.

Done! Thanks for the suggestion. Is there such thing as too many photos? I don't want to overwhelm, but people are always saying "keep the photos coming" so I thought I would really load it up with images. Thx.

The info about the storage sheds I think is helpful. It let's people know your human like the rest of us, as in you also have yard tools and a lawnmore too. You just decided to NOT store them in the garage. :)

As for the pics, I didn't mean it negatively that you had a lot of photo's. I was just surprised at how many you put up. You took good quality shots that show most everything. I think you have the right amount of pics. Great job!

Thanks Kyle. I didn't take your comment about the photos as negative at all, it just got me thinking maybe I overdid it. But, thanks for clarifying.

Fantastic new site! It's already bookmarked. One thing though, you seem to be missing the page that instructs how you detail cars... No worries, we'll all wait while you throw that one up real quick. :)

I think that's what the Blog part is for! I plan on documenting some of the things that happen in there. Don't hold your breath, but I did see my exhaust tips require a good polish...stay tuned!

No problem. Best of luck on your amazing build, and I really do hope to see it in person some day.

Thanks. It didn't begin as much more than your typical double garage, but it is a now a comfortable and fun place to fritter away my spare time.

Great job on the detailing Rick

Thanks EMC. I wish I had more time to detail, but I'm maintaining.

Re: Rick's Audi Double

Wow finally got through all of the pages, took me a couple days ;-) It truly is inspiring, and getting me motivated to get back to work on mine.

Q5 looks great though I do agree it needs maybe a wee bit less wheel well gap ;-)

I'm glad I won't have to worry about snow for another month or so, but luckily my TBSS has AWD and rocked the snow with no issues last winter, especailly when I was coming home from the Detroit Auto Show.

Keep up the great work, you truly have an eye for detail.

A couple of days?! That's what I call dedication. Thanks for the love, but don't hold your breath on a drop on the SQ5. I lowered my previous car and I still cringe when I see pot holes in the road. I'm scarred for life.

I enjoy looking at that kind of how to. You always learn a thing or two by looking at the technique someone else is using. I have the same foam gun btw and I always have a hard time getting the pressure just right. What is your PSI setting?

I play around with the pressure. This last time I had it running on 100 psi. Seems to work well anywhere between 80-100.

Thanks Rick! That was cool.. NICE tool for cleaning. I'm going to have to look into getting one.

It's a great tool for getting in the difficult spots. I have a foam cannon that hooks up to my pressure washer, but the foam goes absolutely everywhere. With the Tornador, I have more control. I use it in the door jambs, engine bay, carpets, and fender wells. It converts whatever liquid you fill it with to frothy foam. I especially like using it with my Griot's Garage Carpet Cleaner.

Your garage is absolutely awesome and will be a great source of inspiration for the organisation of mine ;)

Thanks very much, Thierry. Organisation is definitely something I work at. I'm glad you can take inspiration from my garage.
