That's kinda cool I guess. They offered a chuck for router bits for the one I have, think it mounted on the opposite side motor assembly.

Have most of the DeWalt attachments including their version of the sabre saw. The attachments came with the RAS but the sabre saw is not very effective compared to jig saw. Also have the PowerKraft Montgomery Wards Radial Arm Saw that has two accessory output shafts. One runs at 3,450 RPM, the other at 20,000 RPM for router bits or 1/4" die grinder accessories. It has some innovations that DeWalt should have incorporated (trigger switch on the handle, elevation control in front, arm lock in front..)

Yeah, was about to say that I had seen a jointer option, which may be one of the scarier versions.

Wildest one was the drill press head that attached to the Red Star ones. Complete with a quill and everything.

They did make a rotary planer blade option with V shaped blades. Idea was kind of like a router sled for planing, which seemed not horrible for wide boards, if kept sharp.

I have a Craftsman 12" RAS, 240V 1-Ph motor I bought new in 1979. Still up to whatever I ask of it. I have a couple of accessories for it. It was bought w/a several drawer sheetmetal cabinet, wheeled, but over 40+ years, it deteriorated to the point that I scrapped the cabinet, keeping one intact drawer and the casters.

There is the Powermax Drum sander attachment for radial arm saws. You bolt a pulley to the saw motor and it drives the drum, which gets hung off the column mounted on a cast aluminum support arm. Also came with a variable speed belt for powerfeed. I have one mounted on a CM crown top radial arm saw but couldn't find a pic so here is an internet picture along with a screen shot from the owners manual. Ed.

That attachment isn't shown here. Just 11 pages of disk and drum sanding. Also mentions a lambs wool bonnet for polishing. Also mentions that the Sabre saw should cut on the upstroke.
