Radial Arm Saw Stops

At work they have an Original Saw Company radial arm saw and two outfeed tables with rollers. It would sure be nice to install a stop block to the outfeed tables when making multiple cuts of the same size, but the giant rollers are in the way. Only way to clamp a stop block to the angle iron frame section is in between the rollers. Any of you guys have a brilliant idea? I sure could use one. Measuring and marking every single cut is getting old fast.

The laser is on the right side of the blade, so that means we pull the measuring tape from the right end of the board to make the mark. The board gets fed into the blade path from the right outfeed table. So that means the stop block would need to be on the left outfeed table. I wish it was set up the opposite of that.

Most stop blocks are attached to a fence board that is attached to the outfeed table, but how would you attach the fence board to that type of outfeed table?

We used to have the same thing at an old job of mine.. Was used after a roll former to make metal skins for walk in coolers and freezers.. They had a piece of angle iron attached to the top.. The stop was large had modified vise grips and heavy roller wheels on it. It was made out of 3/16" steel plate so it was heavy.. Quick adjustments for different length pieces. I wish I had a picture to show but we weren't allowed phones on the floor there.. Similar to that stop in the previous picture just on a larger scale and only one side due to the way the machine was.

I would make my own version of a rip fence that would clamp across the rails. Should be pretty easy.

What complicates things is that the rollers sit up ever so slightly above the channel rails; otherwise it would be much easier to make a stop block.

We can only clamp a 2x4 across the rails between the rollers because the rollers sit up higher than the rails. If the mark falls at one of the rollers, we can't clamp a 2x4 in that situation.

You need to drill holes in the angle and attach something to sit ABOVE the rollers. If every single suggestion you have gotten you arw misinterpreting what everyone is saying.. It is like we're beating a dead horse here....

Simple one would be an L shaped piece of wood or metal that could be clamped with a couple of F clamps at the top and bottom. L shaped would allow the top to extend over the rollers in case your measurement is over a roller or turned around would offer just a flat edge for the spaces in between. I'd make each leg 2 different lengths so one leg could extend past a roller the distance that the stop is thick for times when the measurement is where the L would otherwise be in the way and one only to the outside edge of the roller to cover the other distances. 2 clamps so you can tighten it top and bottom to the side rails. I'd only make it 1/2"-1" thick. Not much need for thicker as a stop, only need to catch the corner if your stock is square and thinner helps reduce jam ups.

Let me know if it isn't clear enough and I can make a simple diagram.

What about extending the sacrificial table fence and clamping a stop to that? That is really easy to try.

so high high are the rollers over the frame? clamp a pc of 3/4 (or whatever to clear the rollers ) and fasten another pc on to that.
don't overthink this .
