the concept is scientifically plausible, but I would have no way of knowing if it really is as effective as they claim it to be.

In order for you to determine if it is "worth the money" you would need to make an assumption as to the %effectiveness of the coating, and then determine the cost savings for your heating cooling based upon that percentage (I would suggest to be conservative in your estimates). That will help you determine your pay off time on your investment.

Most investment counselors that I have used suggest that for anything other than capital expenses (values above $10,000) that the Return on Investment (ROI) should be less than 7 years.

Every house built in Houston has the radiant film. Older ones get this paint. It's a must down here.
