Had a leak develop in the line coming from my system feeder which resulted in pressure loss and system shutdown. I didn't notice it right away so it was probably down for 8-12 hrs. and the slab had already cooled by a few degrees.

By the time I got it fixed and fired up again, my 2000 sq. ft. of slab had dropped 12 degrees (from 60 to 48). 10 hrs. later I rechecked it and couldn't believe that my slab was right back to temp and the boiler was cycling normally. I am really impressed with the setup I selected so far (first heating season) - a Triangle Tube Prestige Excellence (110,000 btu/hr.). It has an AFUE of 92% and in the less than 10 hrs. it took to recover the slab, it condensed out almost 5 gal. of water!!!! Simply WOW!!

Anybody else have any similar experiences with these new gen. condensing DV boilers??

Been told by a few people they aren't really worth it. I have not figured the cost difference though.

I have a regular boiler, 85% AFUE.

If the 92% used 7% less gas, that would save me around $80 a year. Let's say the boiler lasted 20 years, that would be a $1600 savings. Worth it??

As far as slab temp, it will hold it for a while. The juice was out at the house today for around 4 hrs and it got down to 67.3* in the house when I normally keep it at 69*. Not too bad considering it's 7* outside.

I agree - yes it is an expensive boiler but I was impressed with the self contained DHW indirect feature as well which made it a simple install that also provides some hot water in the shop.

I don't regret spending the extra $$$ and very happy with the system. My build project was more about value to me than just the lowest cost.

I love my TT 110 too. It heats my whole house, garage, and gives an endless supply of DHW. You definitely get what you pay for!

I installed a Bradford White Everhot Tankless TG 150 1900 sqft garage with radiant heat for 3 floors and it maintains 60 degrees thru the winter and my bill is around 70.00 for gas. With the radiant heat its a pleasure working in the winter. It actually feels warmer the 60 degrees.

Power was out yesterday for a little over 8hrs and it got down to 67* in the house. Little warmer outside though, was -6* in the AM but got up to 12*

Compare to my freezer which got up to 46*. Only thing in there is the ice maker and it was making a mess.
