I'm just starting building a new garage and converting the existing attached garage into living space and have been looking at a few options for radiant in floor heat in the converted garage space. I'm looking for opinions on the relative merits of each system.

It's about 336 sq ft , 13.5 x 24 and I'll be raising the floor around 8 1/2" to match the family room floor next to it. I've considered a few options.

• Vapor barrier, 2" XPS, radiant foam board and concrete to the desired height.
• Delta-FL, 3/4 plywood, 2x6 insulated with ROXUL, plywood and RAUPANEL or similar.
• Delta-Fl, plywood, 4" XPS, Schluter Bekotec and mortar.
• Vapor barrier, 4" XPS, Schluter Bekotec and mortar.

Reading online it seems the aluminum panel systems, warmboard, thermal board, VersaTherm are more responsive systems with easier setback temperatures at night.

Finished floor will be tile in one area and engineered wood in the remainder.

Walls and ceiling will be sealed and heavily insulated.
