Radiant In-Floor Heat Issue

Hello all, went into my garage this morning and notice the pump was running for my in floor heat, but the temp was pretty low, and also felt the pipe, which also felt cool. So, I figured there was a heating issue. At first I thought it might be a heating element, so I pulled out the volt meter. I added a picture of what I tested. I think it would do a much better job then me trying to write it out. Also, the random voltage, does go to the random voltage on the SSR. So, I have to assume the SSR is bad?

I've searched for the SSR, and the model number is a RA6050-D16. Can I get any 50 amp SSR?

Thanks for your help.

I had a somewhat similar issue once not long after I installed my radiant system where I wasn't building up heat value though everything seemed to working pump running etc. turned out my mixing valve was plugged with sediment (I have unfiltered well water) and not enough hot water was getting thru vs the return mix water.

Took it apart and cleaned all has been good since

So, something I checked out on the boiler yesterday. I had the unit off for a day or two. Then yesterday I turned it back on, and all points on the SSRs were showing 120v. Also, the heating elements were showing 120v on each post. But, it didn't seem to be heating very well. Only seeing 75* or so on the temp gauge, also, the pipe just didn't feel as warm.

Anyways, I decided to leave it on until this morning. I went back out to check on it before I left for work. And, the same terminal on the SSR was showing 50v, and the same with the heating element post. So, again, it's not heating. I pulled the SSR from the boiler. It felt only slightly warm.

Other thing I did think about was what DFB mentioned, and pull the top of the boiler off and check the elements to see if there's anything built up on the heating rod. Although, I have to assume the SSR is bad as well. Is there anything else I should check?

Thanks

Is this a 240v unit? If so don't check voltage to ground, you can get false readings. Check voltage from line to line.

It's 240v

Yeah, I started to think about that last night. I did check voltage on the heating element terminals, there are two. One element was at 240 other was around 150v, and was jumping around. I also checked continuity and resistance. Both heating elements has continuity, and both had a resistance of 11.5 ohms. Which, from what I've gathered is the correct ohms.

I will try hooking up the L1 to the T1 after work today, and see if it starts to heat up properly. If it doesn't, then I gotta figure it's a bad SSR.

I'm not exactly sure why there's a 50a SSR for these elements. Each one is 240v 5000 watts. So, that's about 21a. So, a 40amp should be good.
