Thinking of buying/intalling a radiant system from Roberts-Gordon. My shop 40x55' has R40 insulated 12.5' ceiling, 2" of closed cell spray-on foam in side walls.

It looks to me like ceiling installation not possible because the unit would hang too low, so maybe mounted on side walls? BUT, there are two wooden braces that go to trusses on a 45 degree angle from the side wall.

Advice? Expereince?

Hi

I am new to the Journal. This past summer I built a 30 x 60 heated garage, I used a slant finn (smallest one) and 1/2 inch pex with 8 runs. my walls are 2x6 with 3 inch closed cell foam, my attic is 3 inch closed cell foam plus 2 inch insulation board. I live in Northern Maine and I used 170 gallons of heating oil so far. I have kept my garage temp on 55. the slant finn furnace is a direct vent which takes up little space. Anyone wanting to heat a garage pex in concrete is cheap and the way to go.
