Radiator tool?

Long time lurker first time poster. I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota 2wd 4.7L. I need to replace the radiator and it has quick disconnects for the transmission lines. I cannot get a straight answer from the guys at the auto parts stores as to which would be the correct tool. I really don't want to buy a master set nor do I want to keep buying tools until I get the right one. Anyone know which tool is the correct one and is it as simple as putting it around the line and pushing it forward?

Thanks for any help.

possibly. It might be a "quick connect" in which case that's the tool you need. It might also be "jiffy-tite" connection in which case the "quick connect" tool will not work, you just pick the ring out with a pick or small screwdriver, or there are similar tools made to deal with Jiffy-Tites without having to do that.

My '99 Jeep Cherokee uses "quick connects" so I would assume that your Dakota does as well, but you know what they say about assuming.

Most auto parts stores will "loan" you the tool to do the repair. You leave a deposit equal to the cost of buying the tool new and then get your money back when the tool is returned.

I have to agree with rlitman and say for less than $5 I'd invest in the HF kit.

Thanks for the responses, I will try the Harbor Freight set first. I have a 25% off coupon to boot :)
