Where were you able to find spring clips?
I want some metal ones but my local home improvement stores only carry plastic ones.
I found them online but dont feel like buying 100(minimum order) in each size I need.

check an auto parts store

I asked at auto zone and they didnt know what I was talking about. And I didnt a great job of explaining what I wanted, its just that the local autozone *****. When I was in there yesterday...I helped a customer find something when the clerk said they didnt carry it.

I went to advance auto and the old guy knew what they were but they didnt have any. NAPA is over an hour away but my next stop.

As for harbor freight. When I search online for snap clip...all that shows up are carbiners(not what im looking for) I havent seen them in store either.

Thanks. I guess im going to try NAPA. Failing that im going to ebay.

EDIT: this is what im talking about. maybe the OP was talking about something differenthttp://cgi.ebay.com/10-x-SPRING-STEEL-TOOL-CLIPS-16MM-5-8-99p-PACK_W0QQitemZ390134778556QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_DIY_Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ?hash=item5ad5d84abc

Pretty sure op was talking about a socket rail.

As for your clips, I have no idea where you could find them locally.

Rails and cliups are super cheep from snappy. The rails are onlt 2 to 3 buck a peice and a bag of clips is, like Merk said, around 2.50. Can't beat that.

Snap on even sells 3/4 drive socket rail clips. Their clips seem to hold the sockets better as they have a flat profile on the side so they don't just roll off the clips.
