Greetings to all.

After utilizing so many helpful hints and how to postings, I figured I would contribute in the fun.

This is really a garage retrofit with a few bells and whistles.

I am really an organized individual, but I must admit I have not been as OCD as in the past. Life has been busy and with that, I have let a few things slip.

You have to love LIFE! (Or Murphy's Law) Just when you don't expect it, it throws you off track....like unexpectedly losing your job. :shocking:

So, with all this new found time on my hands, and a small but respectable budget allowed by Household6/CFO, it is time to get a major upgrade and reorganizing done in my garage.

I am sure there are plenty that are going to ask why call your garage, "Rally Point" and the simple answer is....in my life this is where I go when I need a break, or to "Rally" my sanity. Not to mention, as with all things mechanical or electrical, when it fails, or needs a tweak'n this is the place!

Now, some of my fellow garage dwellers have sports cars, classic cars, hot rods, or motorcycles in their man caves. Great passions fill so many spaces, I don't have a special car yet, but I will someday. I like to work on things, anything that sparks my interest, from boats, travel trailers, go carts, wood working, machinery or my cars/trucks, I just prefer to do it myself with my own hands.

That is what this space is going to be, a clean, organized space for all my present projects and for all those future ones too.....

This is what it looks like now..........with more details to come!

I must say you almost have a blank canvas there, nothing that a few days and some shelving wouldn't fix, looking forward to seeing your progress.
Any job prospects on the horizon?

Well, here is the tentative plan.

1. Additional wall outlets (5 ea)

2. Painting

3. Race Deck Flooring

4. New Cabinets

5. Under cabinet LED lighting

6. Up lighting install

7. Paint my Vidmars to somewhat match the new cabinets.

8. Reorganization of all my tools and equipment into new cabinet system.

So, I was deep in research for the cabinets, I was leaning toward the New Age line, and I stumbled upon several Seville Ultra HD cabinets on Craigslist.

The set of rolling base cabinets, workbench with peg board back and a large rolling base chest was too good of a deal to pass up, and it somewhat matches my stainless tool box. Short drive and a done deal!

I needed more bench space, so I found the remaining benches, base cabinets & wall cabinets at Sam's Club. However, I am not very excited about putting it all together.....

Photos of my mess and cabinets to follow.....

Update: So, as you can see from my photos a bit of progress has been made.

I needed to add additional outlets to my walls, as the 3 installed are on one circuit and trip on occasion.

I didn't want to tear out the sheet rock to run new circuits, so with an idea from my wife, I dreamed up a way to run the circuits behind an architectural feature.

A quick phone call to my electrician, and he confirmed that it was an acceptable alternative!

Fab time! Built up some boxes and after a few test fits, they look like they will fit the bill nicely.

With all that done, a major purge of **** from the garage. If I had not used it in the last 6 months, it was reassessed to need or possible utilization in the very near future. It is amazing how much stuff didn't make the cut.

So, it is coming along.....

A few pics of the current project status.....

Dub, you are correct....the Race Deck is already down and I am working on a few other projects before I will reveal the finished garage.

I need some help folks!

I am preparing to start my MAXLINE Air line install. I had made provisions to run the air lines externally, through the architectural circuit box up to the ceiling.

Well, SWMBO has lodged a protest against the external install, she feels it takes away from the clean look.

Having a few blue lines running down the wall doesn't bother me all that much....but it is important to her....see the photo, I marked up the photo with the proposed blue lines.

Need some options.......

Perhaps I could make an additional box to run the lines through and then mount the air block. Paint it to match to wall color.....

Or just install it external....and paint it to match.....

What do you suggest?

Greetings. Hiding wires and lines is always a problem. Removable wooden runs you made seem to solve that. Your space will look very clean and efficient. The one thing about running the air in a box is keeping a method to quickly get to them if need be. In the last post, I would go with running a box that has screw brackets that can be easily opened. Looks like your well on top of getting your garage like you want it!!
Thanks for posting and keep us updated.

Best Regards

Despite many options, none of which were aesthetically pleasing overall, I have decided to forego the installation of the Maxline air system for my air compressor.

Household 6 is very happy, and therefore....so am I. :D

It should not be too much longer for the reveal.......
