Ram 2500 Mega-Cab Lift Points/Post Location

I am about to start a 35' x 45' x 14' shop build on my property. I will be installing a two-post lift and I'm trying to find the best mounting location for the posts. I need to reserve as much room in the back of the shop as possible. So, the lift will need to be as close to the roll-up door as I can get it, within reason. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega-Cab and I'm trying to figure out where the posts will be in relation to the sides of the truck when on the lift (rough distance from post to rear bumper). When the truck is on the lift, I want the bumper of the truck to be roughly 4 feet or so from the roll-up door. This should give me enough room to work under and around the truck while it's on the lift, and save room in the back of the shop. Any experience with this situation, or feedback on my plan is welcome. Hopefully I clearly explained what I am trying to achieve. Thanks in advance.

I lifted a PSD Excursion for years on an in-ground lift, and thought a lot about this issue when planning my garage (and am rethinking it as I plan for the lift in our new place). Have you had your truck weighed? If so, you can easily calculate its center of gravity, and that's roughly where you'll want your posts to be.

Park where you'd be lifting up the truck at and using marking paint, transfer the trucks lifting points on to the floor using the marking paint.
The lift should provide dimensions and capability regarding arm extension.
With the lifts dimensions and the marked spots on the floor, you should be able to get real close to where you're wanting it placed.

That's a thought. I'm trying to figure it out before, because the concrete guy is going to pour a little deeper in the lift post area. Probably overkill, but I'd rather be safe.

I have not had my truck weighed. Thought about it a few times, but never had it done.

I have a 2019 Ram 3500, MEGA cab Cummins and a 10k symmetric lift. When I lift the truck, I park to where the driver's seat is directly even with the left post. I don't have the measurement, but, just park your truck where you want it, and locate the post in-line with the driver's seat and that will get you by. Since these trucks are so long, I always put a stabilizer in under the receiver hitch when the truck is in the air.

I went and checked what the dimensions for my Rotary SPOA 9 Asymmetric Hoist .
I installed the Hoist 17 feet into the lift bay and left 3 feet from the wall to pull an axle shaft if required . This was to lift a Dodge Dakota 4x 4 but have since acquired a Dodge Ram 4x4 Cummins , Crew Cab with a 8 foot box as my farm truck .
I have 24" behind the truck when on the Hoist in a 25 foot bay . Photos may not show ( Old Laptop seen better days ) !

I fit my 07 MegaCab in a 25' bay on my Rotoary SPOA9.

My truck weights right at 8,000 (4x4, 33" mud tires on 20" wheels, 6.7 Cummins, Boss plow mount, aluminum cross-bed toolbox, B&W gooseneck hitch) and I run out of lift height before I run out of capacity

I pull the truck forward until the folded-in mirrors (in towing position) just clear the front of the column when the door is opened.

My columns are positioned about 16.5' from my door and that left me with about 13" of clearance between the rear bumper and door.

What is the distance that the arms have to be extended to reach the lifting points?
