Dang! We were at a big antique show on Saturday and I saw one of these lamp shades there for $30. I thought something cool could be made from it. Nice!

Good grief does it ever stop! You are amazing! I think I’m going to look on the old farm yard if there are any cultivator shovels still around. We used to throw them in concrete footings just to get rid of them.

If it ever stops, I don't know what i would do.

Cut another pattern for the top, it is getting closer.
Went out and sniped some unedged spruce boards from the fence, for the tabletop.
I hope to leave some of the live edge.
Replaced the ball lock winch drum pin with a brass rod coupling and chain link, it seems more fitting.
Finished the candle holders that were started yesterday and made a couple others.

Worked on the table top today,
Lots of fiddly fitting,trying to save the live edge, but got top perimeter glued up and the bottom doubler boards glued up.

For some reason, I cannot expand or see that little picture. Driving me nuts!

I don't why that is gtabasso, when I click on it it gets bigger and when I click on again it gets even bigger.
Anyhow, got the table top done this afternoon.
There is some nice worm tracks in the live edge.
Also, the way the miters were laid out, it makes it look almost 3D.
Next up, weld some mounts on the base to attach the table top.
The end is in sight.

It is really crazy the way it appears to be crowned, I promise it's flat.

I got the table mounted today and the iron oiled.
Next up, copper sleeves through the table top to run phone and power cables through, then wire it.
I made a 7 second movie of it rotating, but can't seem to be able to post it.
I have to say this thing made my top 10 list of dumb *** **** I've built,but good fun all the same.

Got the copper sleeves in, added a brass trim piece to the winch drum and wired the light
It rotates, goes up and down and makes light.
I'm calling it done, on to the next whatever.

Spent the morning casting candles with Mrs Claus and the afternoon cleaning up the shop and building this gadget for my laser level, to set it to elevation.

No, pics were fine! I didn’t even think about clicking on the pic... so I was trying to look at the pics while they were smaller. It might be the way the forum loads on my iPad.
