Anyone have any experience with using the Ramset on concrete block? I have a lot of conduit and junction boxes to hang and I was eyeballing the Ramset Cobra instead of using tapcons. Does it work well?

yup just dont get too close to the edge of the block. Ive seen them crack or chip.

The only downside is if you need to remove it for whatever reason. They can be a bear to wrestle out sometimes.

Just make sure you're using the right loads.

Too powerful a load for your nail size will blow out the backsides.

Look up the Hilti website.

I have two guns. One is a low velocity gun and they have low power loads and shorty pins. Work up to the load you need on a test area. Try to find a cell filled with concrete, otherwise hit the block dead center if possible at the web.

They can crack hollow blocks. Stick to the tapcons. They are pretty fast, are removable and wont damage 1/2 the blocks you shoot into. I have for years tried using the ramsets. I own two. 10 years remodeling contractor and more often than not the ramset was a falure. has to be just the right application and just the right kind of concrete for them to work well and also not cause damage.
