A lot of people have been asking questions on the difference between the two and what random looks like etc.

Random Broadcast

A small amount of flake is applied over the garage floor for decoration and does not replace anti-skid. DIY kits from many home centers include very small amounts of flakes -- usually measured in ounces. Many professionals, including us, suggest ordering 1#/100 square feet.

Full Broadcast

You never see the base epoxy or Rust Bullet. All you see is flake. The flake is covered in multiple coats of clear. Sometimes multiple types of clear. Broadcast systems can also include other media such as quartz.

For flake systems we suggest the average guy doing his floor take square footage divided by 5 and professionals divide by 6. The DIY customer should have some left. Beats the heck out of the alternative :scared:

You will see shadowing even with a full broadcast if the color coat is not evenly applied. Very important.

A full broadcast does not completely cover the floor.

On a flake system it's definitely best to go with a base color that is in keeping with the system. Especially DIY. A lot of our other systems go into a clear base

Why aren't these types of threads stickies? It's a shame it takes a decent amount of time to find a thread of interest.

I would love to see, "Post a pic of your epoxy floor" and every other floor type so users can go to one thread and scroll through dozens of pages to view what other people have done and have taken the time to share.

This could be done for other flooring types as well. This would help tremendously.

Stickies. We need more stickies!

Would be awesome, especially if people shared product, flake and quantity used along with the square feet of the project
