What did you do on your floors? It looks like part of it is painted and part is unfinished.
Back when I did the floor it was the two paer epoxy that Lowes sells I believe. Id does have a few scratches but has held up pretty god over the years.
Nice sidewalks! How much more did all those curves cost than regular straight forms? It was worth it!
It did not cost any more than the regular straight walks. The guy that put them in told me it may cost a little more due to the fact the curves are longer than a straight line but the concrete and labor was the same. IIRC it was $3.00 a square foor completed. I think it adds a little more to the house with curved walks vs. the typical straight walks. He just used masonite bender board for the forms. Probably cheaper than 2x's anyways. LOL!!! Most of the flower beds around the house are 8' deep so a sidewalk makes kind of a nice edging. It is also real handy when taking something from the garage to the house or other garage with a hand truck.
How much room you have there? 1/2 acre?
I have an tick over an acre and a half. Behind the house we used to have a 3/4 acre pond but are slowly trying to get it filled in. We have already done 2/3 of filling it in. Don't let anyone fool you. Water is enjoyable but it is also a pain, especially when it take u a complete back yard. Our plans are to finally fill in the remaining third and then have a nice garden in the same spot. Here is what it looked like before and $1500.00 and 8 hrs later it was gone. The ground was also elevated approx 4' higher than my neighbors yard and now the two yards are level. That was another reason for taking it down. He was having septic problems so I did not want to be a part of his problem with maybe water running into or leaking in his yard and backing up the septic. Easier to be good neighbors than bitter enemies.
The last pic shows what was filled in a few years before. I was going to have a shop out thart way but at the time, the wife did not want any of the pond filled, so we didn't. Later on after I built my garage she decided she then wanted it filled in. It would have been a little more convenient with it there due to running the electric and water as all of my utilities were on that end of the house. But Oh Well...it still worked out nice. The thing is, she now has her potting shed / greenhouse where I was going to be. Maybe she did that on purpose. I thought I had foresight on filling in a hole, maybe she is the one with foresight
Question - what's on the ceiling?
I let the guy that was doing the drywall work talk me into a teztured ceiling. He was very reasonable and we wre talking one day about texturing a room in the house, if he could match it, well one thing led to another and he told me that he would only charge $100 to texture the garage ceilings vs almost 2-3 times that for smooth because he had to spend way more time on them. It turned out fairly well, but if you paint in there, you really have to make sure everything is blowed off and cleaned up so no dust gets in your paint. If I had it to do over again, they would be smooth. But I did paint the ceiling with gloss white and it really help to control dust. depending on how I lay out my lights, I may have to change the ceiling so I don't have any holes from existing fixtures.

It was my mom and dads car. Dad got into an accident this february during a small snow and the roads got a little slick. He said he applied the brake, started to slide, let up and applied the brake again and slid into the back of an SUV. To be honest, I really don't think he seen it. He has macular degeneration and is slowly losing his sight. He can spot a bird and know what type it is at a hundred yards, but we were behind a JD tractor the other day, and he wondered where it went to. We were right behind it.
I guess with the MD the center of the eye starts to lose site, but the periphial vision is still fine. There is no cure and you will eventually go completely blind. He was a good driver, but because of it, he decided to relinquish his driving privelages. And he is going on 93 years old. But to answer your question, it is an '85 Cadillac Seville and mom & dad are the second owners. They bought the car something like 17 years ago. Dad can't do body work anymore and they needed a vehicle right away. My mom wanted something like that Cadillac because that is all she knows how to drive. Well I ended trading my '93 Shevy Silverado for a Blazer Xtreme, because dad wanted a Blazer like my '00 Jimmy. I took a loss on my end, got the Blazer X and then my mom said she did not want it.
so I decided to keep it for the wife to drive. I put tags on it, got it insured, buffed and waxed it up and told mom she would have to drive it for a few weeks until I found her another Cadillac. I didn't even have a chance to get back home yet, when she called and said she would take it, she absolutely loved it and was everything she wanted in a vehicle.
One week before that, she did not like it, couldn't see over the dash to drive and literally picked it apart. So anyways, I made a deal with them, lost my **** big time and bought their Cadillac for a dollar. I want to sell it and don't want to sell it, if you know what I mean. If I sell it, I'll just give the money to my mom and dad anyways. But it is an all black '85. The sloped back Cadillac. 4 doors, 4100 engine, 106,000 miles, always garaged, very well maintained, with a reddish/maroon leather interior. I also have 4 complete doors that goes with it. My dad always had a mechanic work on it for him any time any thing ever went wrong. The last time was for an oil leak. So it ended up with a new pan gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new timing chain and gaskets, etc. It still leaked oil as was evident sitting in my garage. I happened to check and every single hose clamp was loosened. The mechanic that did the work for dad was always rea friendly and would always be sure to speak to dad when we were out having coffee on the weekends. Now that he wrecked the car, he can't give dad the time of day. Coincidence? I think he knew dad could not see to fix it himself, so t keep making money off of the elderly, leave stuff loose and he would be a return customer. But anyways, I am still debating on to whether get a doghouse and put it on and paint the car, or to just sell it. If I could get $1500, I would let it go. There was no frame damage, and it has all new tires, new exhaust, 4 extra doors, and great shape for the year. It was my totally redone '93 Shortbed Silverado, Prowler Orange BC/CC, 350ci,bored .060 over with everything completely rebuilt front to rear, ceramic headers, new carpet, headliner, spray-in-bedliner, etc. I did the truck right and did take a loss on the Xtreme, but when it comes to parents, what do you do. Besides that, it will give me an excuse to do another truck later on
