Well here is the deal. I bought a home that was built in the 70"s. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets all in good order. They are all wood. However the finish is not there strong point. The finish now is like a dark mahogany. I wood (pun intended) prefer something in a pine finish. Can I use the random orbital sander on this. I am a mechanic by trade but know very little about wood finishing. My local Lowes has a Porter cable 2 amp in my price range.
If this turns out to be successful, is this a habit that spirals out of control, refinishing doors, wood trim, without an antidote? Is there a 10 step plan to alleviate the rampant desire to refinish floor moldings, along with picture frames?
Will I be able to use a HVLP spray gun on these cabinet doors? I detest using brushes. Also can you spray varnish or stain with this application method?
Can someone talk me out of this thought?
Also, can I use this sander for automotive work? Help.SOS, Thanks, Ken
