Random Pattern (Racedeck or otherwise)

Has anyone ever done a random pattern in their tiles? I've written a quick app that lets me move sliders to adjust how much of each colour I want and then creates a random pattern with that mix. Trying to decide if this is a dumb idea or not :)

That would drive me nuts. I think my mind would be subconsciously trying to work out some sort of pattern within that mess.

I think it could definantly work, in one of those showroom garages. Where the paint, cabinets, pictures, and car all match perfect and there is not one thing out of place. If it was in 95% of working garages with any clutter or off color, it would look busy and complicated. Just my .02.

It's like a Rorschach test. I'm trying to figure out what image I see in the floor. :eyecrazy:

I like the idea quite a bit, but I might pick fewer colors. Maybe all gray scale.

To each his own, but I would be sick with multitudes of random wall and floor colors!

That hurts my eyes. Maybe 3 coordinated colors, not 6!
(I know, grays aren't colors, but....)

The original motivation was my frustration with trying to get tiles to line up correctly with doors and where my cars are parked. Someone really needs to make a 6" x 12" tile for those of us that like things perfectly symmetrical :) So I figured if I can't get a nice pattern I'd just go for random.

I played around with an all grey variant:

It is a working garage ... mostly maintenance for my track car these days. In retrospect it would probably be challenging to find dropped parts :)

The all grey variant is much more appealing to my eyes....but it is your garage, so don't put too much stock in our opinions.
