I have a few random questions I am trying to find answers to before buying some tools:

1) Ring Ends on Box End Wrenches - Does anyone have as thin or thinner ring ends than snap on without sacrificing strength?

2) Does anyone other than Cornwell have combo wrenches that are as long (SAE) and equivelent quality? (I bought some long Hazet for the metric)
A) Are the Cornwell equivalent to Flank Drive or Flank Drive Plus? If not FD+ is there anyone making a wrench equivalent to the long Snap On FD+?

3) I have heard that two products that Snap On is clearly better than the competition is the flare wrenches and swivel sockets in 3/8". I already own both of these tool types made by SK. Are the Snap On ones "that much better"?

I have metric 3/8 swivels from Craftsman. I just got the snap on Sae set and I see a big difference in their slimness and range of motion I can't speak for SK.. there Probaly a bit better than the CMan though. I used snap on line wrenches as well. They are the cats meow. They might have a slight edge but in your case I doubt it's worth upgrading either item. The differences will be minimal.

1. Dunno.

2. SK makes a long-pattern SAE combination wrench set. I have the metric versions and like them a lot.

SK 86118

3. If the SKs are working for you then why would you replace them?

The Long Pattern SK wrenches are really short compared to the Long Snap On. I am trying to find something as long as the long snap on of similar quality without the sharp edged handle.

Why would I replace them? If the Snap Ons were a significant improvement I would just because I am a tool junkie.

The SK stuff is junk, send it to me and I'll make sure it gets thrown away properly, don't want you to have to deal with that toxic mess. :D

1) Do you mean Double box ends, 0 offset, or combination? if combination, Here ya go, this is a test comparing many German brands (and Snap-on) you can find the remaining pages in the "tools from the old world" thread. But It looks like Hazet holds up the best.

I have a few random questions I am trying to find answers to before buying some tools:

1) Ring Ends on Box End Wrenches - Does anyone have as thin or thinner ring ends than snap on without sacrificing strength?

The thinnest box ends are XDH series snap on, not OEX combos

2) Does anyone other than Cornwell have combo wrenches that are as long (SAE) and equivelent quality? (I bought some long Hazet for the metric)
A) Are the Cornwell equivalent to Flank Drive or Flank Drive Plus? If not FD+ is there anyone making a wrench equivalent to the long Snap On FD+?

The long snap on is way too long, heavy, and unweildy for everyday use, its really a specialty tool. They are great if you need them, but if all you need is long box ends (not long open-ends), get the XDH series. The XDH handles better and is longer. A typical hazet 600n is same/shorter than OEXM not OEXL, although hazet has the XL version of the 600n which may be what you have.

3) I have heard that two products that Snap On is clearly better than the competition is the flare wrenches and swivel sockets in 3/8". I already own both of these tool types made by SK. Are the Snap On ones "that much better"?

Snap on 1/4 drive swivels are the ones to go out of your way to buy. The snap-on line/open end combo is also the best of its type.
