Ranger / BendPak - Reboxed ****?

I finally have a nice three car garage and have been stocking it with some much needed equipment lately. I had a subpanel installed for easy expansion, got my 60 Gallon air compressor hooked up and decided to get a new floor jack and jack stands.

Of course, I turn to ASEDeals as they have always been supporters of the forum here. I decided on the Ranger Low Rider Jack (RFJ-3000LPF) and matching Ranger 6 Ton Jack Stands (RJS-6T). The Ranger Jack was back ordered from now to eternity - so I was bumped into the AFF Low Profile Jack (200T) - which is fine as that was the other jack I was considering.

Anyhow, everything shows up and I guess it just rubbed me the wrong way - but the Ranger Jack Stands are just generic jack stands / boxes with a Ranger sticker slapped on it (for 2.5x the price!). If you're considering Ranger/BendPak Jack Stands because you trust the name - don't fool yourself. They are the same Jack Stands Jegs sells for $37 shipped. I paid $170 for a name I "trusted" when I coulda spent $74 on the same thing. When it's time to spend a few thousand on a two post lift - I know who I'm NOT buying from.

No disrespect to ASEDeals - they're great - but facts are facts.

I don't know about the jack stands but I bought a Ranger floor jack a few years ago from ASEDeals and I've been very happy with it. I have HF, Torin and Pro Value jack stands, no complaints there either. I would be PO'd too if I paid the long dollar for a generic China jack stand.

In stead of making your second post being about how you feel that you were ripped off, why don't you consider first contacting the merchant, and explain why you are unhappy with the product. You sound like a spoiled child that didn't get sprinkles on his ice cream cone....

I probably should just take the advice in your quote. At 5000+ posts, I could never dream of matching THAT experience - but since calling me a petulant child is such a classy move - I'll bite.

I'm upset only that I was thinking I was getting filet and got ground chuck. As for it being my second post, I guess I just spend more time in the garage than on the computer talking about it (the search button is my friend as well).

Point is: I trust the name BendPak/Ranger and trust they provide a product that is superior to a no name China brand (and charge a superior price). However, that's not the case. They don't even take the time to rebox and at least provide the illusion of a superior product.

Besides - the meat of the post was to let people know *it's the same jack stands* you can buy for $37. Absolutely no need to spend $85.

...and yes, I reached out to ASEDeals first, they were passing it along to BendPak/Ranger.

Re-badged stuff is making Harbor Freight look better every day. Why buy Northern tool ? when i can go to HF and buy the same quality for half or less. The choices seem to be gone. I think the **** have 3 manufactures, and a 100 different product names, from fighter planes to motorcycles, smoke and mirrors, Pick your poison, same country of origin, same plant, same same, why pay more ? Sorry for your experience, just one of many to follow for all of us, Name brands and confidence in the product seem to be going going gone. Your opine may surely differ.

It is not the **** but the Chinese. **** jacks or jack stands should be better quality or at least one would expect them to be.
