Does anyone have experience with Ranger Jack stands? I found them on the BendPak website but they are sold other places for around $60. http://www.asedeals.com/store/ranger-jack-stand-heavy-duty-3-ton-rjs-3t/ I’m looking for a set of 3 Ton stands and I’m wondering if these are more substantial than the $25-$30 (with free shipping) sets that seem to be everywhere. I’ve looked into Hein-Werner as well but the fact that the company says they are made in America leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

From the Hein-Werner jack stand (ratchet style) web page...

"Assembled in the US with US and Global components"

I am not familiar with the Ranger stands

Yes. Only the post is made in the USA. The bases come from China and the quality does not warrant the premium price.

FWIW - I'm a huge HF hater, but bought their 6 ton stands for $39 I think on sale a few years ago (to restore a trailer) and they're so good, I now use them ALL THE TIME with heavy diesel trucks and even had my mason dump up on them the other day. I have one older USA made Hein Warner 6 ton that I use as a back up in case they fail, but they've held up really well. I'm not one to cheap out on stuff that could potentially kill you and wouldn't recommend them if they were junk.
