O P, there are multiple Vintage Craftsman Tool threads in "Vintageland". Go to vintage tool board and check the stickie for specifics.

I got a circle U 1/2" ratchet at the pawn shop the other day, made by plvmb I believe in the 40's for craftsman. Really cool tool, I got it to flip but it's too neat and smooth to sell... so... that's all I got.

im going to use this post as an opportunity to ask a question.

sears often rebadged tools with craftsman name from many different sellers. Often times by smaller tool manufacturers that couldn’t get a foothold by themselves.

I swear I saw an old advertisement with a rebranded craftsman ratchet that stored some sockets inside the actual handle so you didn’t lose them. It looked ugly as sin, but had to to store the sockets. I have no idea how many all I know is that the sockets went inside. It’s been on my mind for around 6 years now. My brain could be making this up, but it’s been bugging me ever since.
Does anybody remember this?

And Craftsman never manufactured anything , but they were a great marketeer in their day until the new chairman sold off all the great brand names they did so well building up through the years . "CRAFTSMAN" DIEHARD"TOUGHSKINS" ECT.

I’ve never heard of Craftsman tools. Do they have a tool truck?

I can see this is a tuff crowd , some try to be clever, some try to pretend they read my post. Anyways was trying to get with other Craftsman collectors. Fill voids or find new varieties of tools, don't remember selling anything to anyone
Are they the special stealth craftsman cause I don't see any pictures.

Craftsman made their own tools, I know, the plant was just down the road from me, i would walk over from time to time and grab a wrench hot off the press.

Those were the days!

As for the CEO Ed Lampert, he is a fine man with a sharply honed business sense and pride in American mfg and the growth of Sears/Craftsman. Have you seen how nice the new tools are they make!!!
