Rare (ish) Snap-on Tools...need advice from the pros

Hello, I have been a member on this site for about a month. I have been watching the classifieds for ideas, but I figured I'd just post here and listen to advise. I know this is my first official post, and I will read the seller guidelines before I post anything in the classifieds section, but here is my question:

I have come across some old snap-on stuff that is new old stock. How would I begin to price it? I don't want to undersell myself, of course, but I don't even know where to begin as some of the stuff I can't remember ever seeing for sale. As an example, I have a NOS blue handled, removable and reversible shanked SDDD42. I also have 3 NOS flat and phillips Snap-on shanks with it. (which are actually 6 ends since the reversibility). This is just a single example. How would I begin to price something like that? I purchased roughly 60 items that are NOS along these lines, and don't want to undersell myself. I also have a few things even rarer.... such as Snap-on prototype items. (They are actually marked as prototypes from the factory). How would I even begin to price a prototype? We'll say one of them is an SGDMRCE4 locking, 90 degree adjustable ratcheting green screwdriver.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated as I would rather give snap-on enthusiasts a stab at some of this NOS stuff rather than give any % of my money to the E-machine. This may be my first post on here, but I am a stand up, honest guy with a ton of Paypal feedback, and I would never have a problem with someone picking up their purchase in person to meet me. In fact, I prefer it. Please leave comments and suggestions, and you'll be seeing me very soon in the market area. Thanks in advance.

I posted above that I do not want to give the E-monster (ebay) my money, and I want to give enthusiasts and collectors a stab at the rare stuff first. The run of the mill NOS stuff will go on there, but the rare stuff will stay with me or go to a very good home....

I hate taking pics, but give me a sec. These will be taken with my camera phone, so the quality will be sucky. I'll post the pics of the 2 I mentioned above to begin with. Here's the SDDD....

It may be a newer soft handled green 90 degree, but it is the prototype (if you can read the top of the locking head, my flash kind of kills the printing)

How much for the blue driver? Do u have anything else blue?

That blue ones worth about 15 pesos.

I'm waiting for an expert opinion on the driver, which is why I started this post to begin with. If I go the ebay route, I'll make sure to post it in here to let people know it's listed. I do not, (in my possession at this exact moment) have anything else blue, but the guy I bought all of the NOS stuff from today does in fact have some more blue stuff. He has all 3 (1/4, 3/8, 1/2) ratchets as well as screwdrivers and breaker bars that are NOS. I spent a ton with him today, but after I part with this stuff that I have now I will certainly be going back to get more and will post up the rarest stuff I find. I didn't realize the desire for that color of blue, or I would have bought it all today. It will probably be late next week (or the weekend) before I make another trip over there. This site will be the first to know on the collector stuff....

Haha, nice. Well, another guy I work with has been buying and selling snappy on the E-monster for a decade now, and when I pulled the NOS SDDD out of the box and showed it to him today he stopped in his tracks... so, with his selling background, I figured I had something....

Also, I do not sell things for pesos....goats, chickens, and llamas are in fact legal tender, though.

I'll have to look at them, I picked them up because of the rare color but they came from another source. I know the deadblow is used, I don't remember about the ball peen. I left those at work, I will post pics up (or PM if you like) after the weekend.

You may not like eBay BUT the fact of the matter is; you will get the greatest exposure (world wide if you choose), most likely.. the most money for the NOS tools you want to sell. The collectors love blue and those are the ones who will pay that kind of money; where else can you have your collectible NOS tools open to the type of people who will pay the most for them? eBay.. nuff said. The rare colors; like the blue, do not follow the "normal" pricing that those tools normally bring; bidding wars can bring surprising prices for scarce collectible snap-on tools. If you can get over your philosophical resistance to using eBay to sell your stuff; you probably will do very well there. Good luck with the sales...

I would say between 100 and 150 for SDDD42. That's my estimate. I buy allot of older SO tools so please shoot me a list of items that you would like to sell.

If you want to make the most money go to ebay.
If you want to do it local / cash go to craigslist and start at 50-60% of new retail.
If you want me to buy it offer it at 1/5 to 1/3 of what it went for new.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Nothing more and nothing less. Asking us to price it for you is pointless...

Very true, that's what I will probably end up doing. I just prefer to sell my stuff to the same people and get to know my buyers. Craigslist in my area can be kind of shady, and I am so tired of getting 10 responses of "I'm coming to get that, remove your ad" and none of those people ever show and then ignore my call when I hit redial. It just gets to be a hassle. I guess I'll probably just take pics of the rarer stuff tonight, and if anyone is interested, I'll put it on the E-monster tomorrow morning into the afternoon since I was going to list an atv and dirt bike anyways. I'm going to take a mass picture of the stuff I picked up today so that people can see what I have. Give me a sec and you should see it...

Which ones are we talking about, or are we talking in general? I have one very large "flathead" that I would consider a prybar, but my co-worker got chewed out once for calling it such, as the potential buyer called it a "really, really big flathead" rather than a prybar....As for screwdrivers, I have a ton, so take a look. The blue stuff I'll be begging for next week as stated earlier. I pretty much keep green for myself :)

I'll attach more specific photos with my crappy camera phone. I'll probably be selling in lots, as I don't want to deal with shipping 60 different screwdrivers to different addresses next week! But if anyone is curious ahead of time of a specific model/handle number, I'd be happy to post it up.

This is used stuff I picked up from another seller....The 1/2 inch chrome ratchet is barely used, but the rest has seen regular use.

ALSO I am willing to trade anything I put on ebay for the transitional green ratchets. These were the hard handles that were the same shape as the current ones with reversed colors. The whole hard handle was green with black wrap on top and bottom and black logo. I remember seeing a picture on here of used ones...

Haha. Neither. I saw another guy on ebay using a morgan, so I thought it was a good idea. You can't really judge size on tools sometimes. However, I have begun grabbing up some silver as a hobby.
